I went from HERO to ZERO in front of 50,000 people in about 2 seconds 😆
I had a perfectly good nose wheelie going… until ONE tiny mistake put a perfectly good monster truck on its roof.
So what went wrong??
Someone in the crowd once guessed, “YOU SNEEZED!” 😂
The real answer is way simpler than you’d think though...
And it taught me a pretty expensive lesson about how quickly one small decision can kill your momentum.

Driving monster trucks wasn't my original dream... in fact the first time I ever went to an event was after Monster Jam originally called me to chat about the potential of driving one
Life has taken some dramatic turns along the way, mostly through a path of failures and getting "it" wrong... but the one thing that we did right was getting the home base settled.
There's no perfect formula for life... but there ARE gears... and we all gotta just make the next shift as we face whatever comes our way
Having a "Win What's Next" mentality is critical
Canaan’s Mohawk gets better EVERY YEAR!
Saw my buddy and his awesome family in Foxborough, always a treat.
Like the Mohawk outliving the truck going away… what are some other fan engagement examples from the sport that won’t ever die, ya think??
What you guys think? Did we pull off a kickflip shifty? Tre flip? 360 pop shuv?
I say it’s a “Kickflip Shifty” like the bottom vid shows… where you start a regular kickflip and then twist the board sideways mid-air about 90 degrees, then twist it back straight before you land.
Pulled off this fun move in Foxborough in the TechDeck Wreck Deck monster jam truck
Shoutout to Berto Trevino for the idea!
Shoutout to Monster Truck Lord for the top vid!
And shoutout to Tyler Hendley for the bottom skate vid we matched this up to 🫡

Foxborough was such a blast… and wasn’t as muddy as we expected from the forecast! Had a fan in post show that said out of the 8-9 shows they’ve been to there, this one was the best overall.
Honored that we got to be a part of it!
Thankful for this TechDeck Wreck Deck truck and our Monster Jam team

This was the hardest crash of my monster truck career…
The question people ask after watching stuff like this is “why do you put yourself through that?”
The last video is “WHY”
Love sharing stuff like this with corporate audiences. They fall in love with the sport as much as the rest of us!
And it’s also fun to not be a boring keynote speaker 😆😆
Perfectly good nose wheelie until I FLOPPED on the roof… so what went wrong??
Someone guessed “you sneezed!!” from a crowd one time 😆😆
Listen as I explain how I went from a hero to a zero in front of 50k screaming fans in Houston!
If you haven't experienced a night at Bowman Gray, you are missing out on a North Carolina staple! 🏎️
We caught their Night of Destruction that included Full Boar and Bad News Travels Fast monster trucks ripping around... it’s always funny seeing them avoid the infield grass to save it for WSSU’s fall football season, but they still put on a good show for just $2 kid tickets on the night 🤯
Plus a demo derby to round out the night! 😎
Have you ever been to an event at this legendary stadium?
For the last 11 years, I’ve been on the road for 120+ days a year for monster truck stuff alone 🤯
With the kids getting older and me missing more stuff, my wife and I naturally start asking ourselves how long we want to keep it up…
And the kids ask that question too, usually on days I’m leaving again.
But then my wife asks them if they’d be ok if I stopped driving monster trucks, and they quickly say “no we want dad to keep driving…” so I asked my oldest daughter why, and she likes the moments people recognize me in public, or when people at school ask her about it 😆
All of this to say, people look at my career and think it’s the best thing ever, and I’ll be the first to admit that it’s just as difficult as my corporate career I used to have. But it’s a different difficult. The beauty is that we’ve gotten to “choose our hard” in this career.
So, while I’m still a hit at career day at their school, we gotta keep this crazy lifestyle up right?!? And shoutout to having a spouse that sees the bigger picture, willing to sacrifice her own stuff so we can live this dream as a family… she’s truly the key to making it all work in a way that protects the family in the long run.
My first ever backflip was an epic backFLOP FAIL!
And our brand new sponsor was in the crowd too😩
Watch as I breakdown:
1) how we backflip monster trucks
2) how I screwed up my first ever flip
Good thing we still kept that sponsor for 9 years!! By the grace of God! 😆
