Building a connection can often be one of the most rewarding yet challenging parts for both rider and horse to develop.
Like a friendly handshake, it needs a gentle touch and support to flourish. It’s one of the special things we ask the horse to accept willingly, rather than to shy away from. The aim is to help them feel confident enough to accept the contact without feeling trapped or confined within boundaries.
When I first started working with Bo, he didn’t quite understand or embrace the connection. He would plant his feet and refuse to move, or buck whenever asked to move forward with contact.
Using the Niagara Equissage Pulse to make him feel comfortable in his body has really helped him become more receptive and relaxed during our training sessions.
Now, he actively participates in solving the problems, which helps us achieve more collection and compression. His willingness to try has grown a lot. This positive change has been a wonderful step forward in our training journey.

Take your time to build your horse's confidence and help them learn to stay within their window of tolerance. Remember, the world is full of wonderful opportunities for you both to explore and enjoy. Diamond faced his fears today and went on the walker!

So grateful to have this sweet boy in my life. 🥰🙏 Happy Wednesday!!
I really enjoy watching Ferrari play tag with Hondo. It's wonderful to see him build confidence through play, especially since he used to be intimidated by other horses!
Wow, it's incredible to watch this young guy grow up right before my eyes. They really do grow so fast! Today, he figured out his big boy canter, and I couldn't be more proud. Debby, he's just amazing!
