The Universe knew I was starving and brought me hot dogs. I mean it. I did a u-turn on Coors trying to find a lunch plan. As I was headed for something very lame, I saw that umbrella! He is usually east of the river, but he just informed me that he’s planning on setting up M-F at Montaño and Oxnard. (Just west of the Dion’s and Speedway past Coors.) YAY for us Midwest-siders!

The most fun “work” I’ve “worked” at work all year.

I might have been a little emotional after the first slice. Many tears of joy followed. The beer kept me hydrated, so no need to worry about me. I'm way more than fine.

Clichés are not my thing... but dreaming of my visit last week to Daydream Rum Bar certainly is! I felt like I only got a preview, though. This was a Wednesday night visit, so "the sexy room down the stairs" was not open. Will be back. (With more room for rum!)

Took a Friday night drive down to the South Valley to try the brand-new Al Trompo Mexican Grill. The tortillas are made by hand right when you order, which always feels like a good sign. The owner mentioned they’ve only been open a little over a week while I waited in line to order, and it does show in the sweetest way as it looks to be family-run.
Ordered the 2 Amigos Plate: two meats, beans and rice, six fresh tortillas, plus the chips and salsa bar - for just $19.99. I’m not sure the guacamole was supposed to come with the meal? Anyhoo- with the Jarritos, the whole meal was $24.99. (That’s a deal these days! ) They’re still working out their flow, but honestly, it was a great taco and absolutely worth the drive.

Got a sneak peek of Joe's Pasta House Easter Brunch menu. Yummy! Shared plates meant good manners for the tasting - but the frittata was SO good, I kinda took a whole one for myself.
