Anytime I post horses for lease. I tend to get a large influx of messages asking questions that are already answered in this post so please read fully. Generally, we have you come take a lesson or two and match you up with a horse and go from there.

We offer different levels of leases.
These leases are IN BARN ONLY.
Barn is in Scarborough, ME.
Leases start at $400 and go up from there depending on how much riding you want to do and what you want to do. Weekly lessons included

Memphis- Available for half lease. He stands roughly 15.2hh, he’s a 21 year old TWH cross, w/j/t/l/c, has been shown in the jumpers as well as competed several years as a barrel horse. He’s great on the beach and trails. Ideally looking for a leaser who wants to trail ride/beach ride. He has a kid leaser who runs barrels on him, and they are quite the team. So an adult who wants to get out and explore , or wants a smooth arena ride, he’s your guy. He’s one of the most fun horses I’ve ever experienced.

Lady- available for lease or could be for sale. 20 year old TWH mare. A fun mare. Has been shown flatshod. Trail horse deluxe. We’ve taken her to the mountains and the beach and she is awesome.

Vegas-available for lease after 10/15. 12 year old 15.3hh Appaloosa gelding, patterned, nice big lofty trot, good canter. Has been hauled all over. Needs intermediate rider.

Casino- 2022 ApHC gelding, stout, thick and handsome and he knows it. Very kind c**t, eager to please.spent the summer at camp, and is at the trainer for 2 months, so available on Nov 1st. Lunges, great for all the things, loads, ties, clips, baths etc.

Hinu- is a 18 year old Appaloosa gelding. This guy has been there done that. From jumping, to halter, western pleasure, and even skijoring. He enjoys being loved on and all the attention. He rides w/j/t/l/c, great on the trails and at the beach. Available for lease

Trainer at facility, indoor/outdoor, wash rack, regularly haul to trails/beach, we typically race NBHA ME01, MEBRA, and attend some other local shows/races.

Training horses is one thing. Training people is a whole different ballgame.

Horses are pretty honest. If they don’t understand something, you change how you ask. If there’s a hole, you go back and work on it. If something isn’t working, they’ll usually tell you pretty quickly.

People come with confidence, nerves, habits, different learning styles, different goals — and sometimes a completely different feel than the person trying to teach them.

That’s probably one of the biggest challenges of coaching: figuring out how to explain the same concept five different ways because what clicks instantly for one rider might make absolutely no sense to the next.

And I think the best coaches are constantly learning right along with their students.

For the trainers and coaches — what’s the hardest part about teaching people?

And riders — what’s something a coach finally explained in a different way that made it CLICK for you?

Admittedly….. I’ve been terrible about updating anything. Just not enough time or energy. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

We’ve had ourselves a busy race season. With only a few weekends off. Last weekend we had 6 horses at the MEBRA race that was also NBHA ME01. So we had the whole crew.

Clara and Memphis have gotten better at every race, and even had some of their personal best runs this past weekend at Skowhegan fair. And won the Peewee barrels at Hollis.

Eliza and Lacie are 2 peas in a pod, both free spirits who absolutely crushed flag race, and are doing so good in the poles, just all the sass when it comes to barrels. Girls just want to have fun🤷🏼‍♀️

Brooklyn and Missy are keeping up the consistency. Missy may be 22, but she’s not slowing down anytime soon. They are gearing up for state Championships in October.

Elsa and Vegas have been going together as a team. I think he really enjoys having her as his rider. He’s consistent just like his momma, and Elsa has been working to learn how to ride him. Her persistence and determination is inspiring. Hoping they can go to states and make some nice runs!

Amanda and Jäger joined in on the fun halfway through the season. And Justin, the past few shows they have come a long way. Jager like his older brother Vegas, has a lot of heart, try and knows his job, and wants to do his job. But barrel racing is equally a mental game as much as it is a physical one. And keeping his brain in one piece has been a challenge, but the pieces are coming together for them as a team. And everybody better watch out because that horse can turn a barrel like nobody’s business.

Myself and Jaxon, admittedly, we’ve been on a struggle bus with some first barrel problems. But we have a great vet, and are working through whether it’s physical or behavioral, either way, we will figure it out and hopefully get it together for states. I have no timeline with him. I have no set in stone plans, nothing other then small goals with zero expectation. I’m just happy to be there on him, and that he’s sound and happy. Even if he nearly gives me whiplash and loses me every time around the second barrel.🫡🚀

You may notice we are missing an integral part of the team…… Ashley and Montana. Well Ashley is in foal(lol) and out for the rest of season, but no worries she still comes to all the races and is behind the computer. Yay for a new peewee rider!

Race season has officially started!
Yesterday we headed to Hollis for an NBHA race that was also MEBRA co sanctioned which meant we had the whole team with us.
5 horses, 2 trailers and lots of running around.

Clara And Memphis showed up and showed out. He’s not an easy horse to ride at all, they Won Peewee barrels and did well in their other classes.

Brooklyn and Missy made their debut and had awesome barrel runs, and won some $ in speed barrels.

Eliza and Lacie, this kid is a hand, and did some bronc stomping on the very fresh mare. She stuck it out with a smirk on her face, horses like Lacie build great horsewomen.

We have a full summer schedule ahead!

Another filly, her 5th to be exact. This is a full sister to last years Filly Bunnie.
Both are by Big Rich And Lazy.

We have a few horses available for half lease on farm. Ideally looking for adult leasers, but will consider the right teen.
Opportunities to do all sorts.
Leases are a great way to ride, without the commitment and responsibilities of owning one.

Currently we have:
Lady- Tennessee walking horse
Hinu- Appaloosa gelding
Lacie- Appaloosa Mare
Casino- Appaloosa Gelding(not finished, would make a special consideration for someone who wants to give this dude the time he deserves and put some training into him)

We attend lots of barrel races, go trail riding often, group lessons weekly, and have a great barn atmosphere with easy going boarders and leasers.

Bunnie was our 2025 filly by big.rich.and.lazy and out of IE Promote Chip

She’s going to make quite the show horse and make my small breeder heart happy🥹
