Former Athlete Grocery Haul: Everything I Buy to Stay Lean, Strong & Athletic
When you stop playing sports, grocery shopping changes. During your athletic career, you probably didn't think twice about grabbing a bagel before practice, eating a huge dinner after games, or stopping for fast food with teammates. Your training schedule gave you structure, and your body was constantly burning energy. Then sports ended. Suddenly, you're sitting at a desk all day, squeezing workouts into a busy schedule, and wondering why the same habits don't seem to work anymore....

Why Former Female Athletes Struggle to Stay Lean After Sports (And How to Get Your Athletic Body Back)
If you've been following Freshman Fitness for a while, you may notice things look a little different around here. Over the past several years of coaching women through weight loss, strength training, and building healthier habits, I started noticing something. Many of the women I worked with shared a similar story. They were former or current recreational athletes. They played softball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, gymnastics, swimming, tennis, track, or another sport growing up....

One of the biggest reasons this transformation worked is because we stopped trying to force the fastest possible results đ
At the start, her body didnât need more restriction
It needed:
-more consistency
-more structure
-more FOOD
-a pace she could actually sustain long term
There were phases where progress felt slower than we wanted, but instead of panicking and crash dieting harder, we stayed patient and focused on building habits she could realistically maintain
And over time? The weight DID come off
Her body composition changed
Her confidence changed
And most importantly⊠the results actually lasted đȘ
Thatâs exactly how I coach my clients
Sustainable doesnât mean âno resultsâ
Usually itâs the thing that finally creates them, just might take longer than youâd like
If you want help losing fat without constantly starting over, send me a message đ«¶

she didnât just lose 20 lbs
her waist came in, her arms started showing, cellulite smoothed out
and people started noticing
but none of that happened from trying to lose weight as fast as possible
she used to do what most people do
go all in for a few days, try to be perfect, fall off, start over
and expect her body to change anyway
what actually changed wasnât her effort, it was the approach
we slowed it down, made it repeatable and built something that worked on normal days, not just perfect ones
thatâs when everything started to shift
this is what realistic fat loss looks like when it actually sticks
and this is exactly what my coaching helps you buildđ

My client came to me on a GLP1 & was dropping weight quickly⊠but it wasnât the kind of progress you actually want.
Her GLP-1 dose was too high. Appetite was tanked. Energy was low. Weight was dropping fast but not in a way thatâs sustainable.
She was nauseous, not able to eat enough & overall not feeling well.
I told her to go back to the doctor and have them pull the dose back.
Now sheâs still losing, just at a pace her body can actually keep up with. Training is better. Food intake is more consistent. She actually has energy again.
Faster isnât better if you canât maintain it long term and can actually lead to muscle loss if done too fast
If youâre on a GLP-1 (or thinking about starting one), this matters:
You still need to lift.
You still need to eat enough calories and protein.
Otherwise youâre not just losing weight, youâre losing muscle, energy, and the ability to maintain your results long term.
The medication can help but structure is what makes it work.
Without building these long term habits, rebound is inevitable once you come off.
If youâre on a GLP-1 (or starting one) and want to make sure youâre not doing it the wrong way⊠message me âGLP1â

You donât need a better plan
You need something that actually makes you follow through
Because you already know what to doâŠbut youâre still:
âąpicking at random meals by 3pm because nothing was planned
âąsaying âIâll start fresh Mondayâ for the 10th time
âąstanding in your kitchen stressed trying to figure out what fits your calories (or what your calories even are)
âąbeing âgood all dayâ then losing it at night
Thatâs the difference between tryingâŠand actually getting results
This is why my clients get
â results
â habits that actually last
â and the tools to do it on their own
If this hit a little too close⊠this is your sign!

She didnât need more time
She needed something that actually fit her life
Working
Mom life
Softball
Full schedule
She used to keep restarting
trying to âbe perfectâ for a week
then falling off again
Now?
Down 20 lbs, more confident and actually consistent even after ending working together
This is what happens when you stop guessing and finally have a plan that works for you
If youâre stuck in that same cycleâŠdm me or comment âstuckâ đ„ł

she told her husband she didnât care what size she was
she âjust wanted to be healthyâ
that, apparently, was a lie
because nowâŠ
her clothes are fitting different, sheâs getting stronger, the scale is finally moving
and her confidence?
âI feel like hot sh*tâ
and THIS is the part people donât get
itâs not just about weight loss
itâs about finally seeing the change
having the proof and realizingâŠ
âoh wait, I can actually do thisâ
she went from âI donât careâ
to âholy sh*t this changed everythingâ in 12 weeks
while most people are still thinking about starting
if youâre stuck in that phaseâŠ
stop overthinking it and fix it
