Please welcome our newest addition sammi woods to the Cal Poly Women’s Flag Program as a Grad Transfer. Sammi, the first ever winner of the Girls Elite 11 Elite11, joins the Mustangs after an accomplished career as a softball player at the University of Maryland Maryland Softball. Sammi, a 2026 US Women’s Flag Trial invitee, will bring experience, athleticism, and maturity to the First Class of flag athletes at Cal Poly. Welcome Sammi!

The Cal Poly Elite Prospect Camp is built for athletes who believe they have what it takes to compete at the Division 1 level. Train and compete in front of our coaches and athletes on campus and get a glimpse of what makes Cal Poly special. We can’t wait to see you!

Congrats to the dynamic duo of Maci Joncich and Ashlea Klam on an amazing game today at the IFAF World Championships.

These two Mustangs had a combined 6 touchdowns for USA Football in today’s win over Spain.

Bracket play starts tomorrow, we can’t wait to keep cheering you on from SLO!

We’re excited to officially introduce our coaching staff for the inaugural season of Cal Poly Women’s Flag Football.

But, if you ask the three of us what we’re most excited about, it isn’t our titles, it’s getting to know this team.

Over the next few years, we’ll spend a lot of time together—on the practice field, in meeting rooms, on buses and airplanes, celebrating wins, learning from losses, and sharing a lot of life along the way.

Our job is to help these young women become the best players they can be, but even more importantly, the best teammates, leaders, and people they can become.

We believe in Competition, Accountability, and Love.

Compete with everything you have.
Hold yourself and your teammates to a high standard.
And care deeply about the people around you.

We feel incredibly fortunate to coach this group, and we can’t wait to get to work.

We are so excited to welcome grad transfer Brenna Ramirez to our first class! Brenna is not only a proven leader and outstanding teammate, she is also an accomplished football player.

Ashlea is one of the most accomplished athletes in flag football today, but what excites us most is the person behind the accolades. A proven leader, competitor, and ambassador for the game, she represents everything we value in our first class!

Her accomplishments include:

-2026 NAIA National Player of the Year
-2024 IFAF Women’s Flag Football World Champion
🇺🇸 4x National Team Player
-1st Team All-American at both Receiver and Safety
-3x College Team Captain

Ashlea has already made a lasting impact on the flag football community and we can’t wait to see how she continues that in SLO! 🐎

We are excited to be bringing another CA kid home with the addition of .gonz_ffb. Shea comes to us from Arizona Christian where she was a team captain and a First Team All-GSAC honoree. During her senior year at JSerra she was name the Trinity League Player of the Year. Welcome to Cal Poly, Shea!
