Just me being a big liar 😅
Don’t get me wrong, some days I still hate running! But I have a love hate relationship with it now.
If you were to tell me 5 years ago that I would willingly be signing up to train to run 6 miles, I would’ve laughed in your face! No one is more surprised by this than I am.
I have found a challenge that pushes me beyond what I thought I was capable of. And I actually enjoy it…? 😅
One mentor I had once told me that running is 90% mental, and honestly, it is. My mind gives up way more easily than my body does. It’s kind of crazy to see what I’m capable of!
Here’s to pushing myself even further 👏🏻

How do you prepare for a race?!
Don’t worry, I got you 😉
Before your race, you might be tempted to push yourself even more to get that new PB you’ve been working towards. BUT you should actually do less.
For your running, you should be doing about 30-50% less than your typical weekly mileage. This gives your body some rest while keeping your legs ready to go!
For your strength training, you should continue to train in a way that supports your running. Don’t know what to do? Send me a DM and I’ll help you create a running based strength program.
Make sure that you are getting enough sleep to keep your body and mind recovering. Remember, you want at least 7-8 hours!
Don’t forget your food! Keep yourself fueled with plenty of energy and water for your race. Focus on eating protein and carbs to ensure that your body has enough fuel to carry you through to the finish line!

Am I now someone who runs?!
Running these past 8 weeks has transformed me in ways I didn’t think possible. I learned that the mental aspect of running is just as important as the physical aspect.
Running is challenging on your body and mind, which is why having a good plan and support system is essential to your success.
You need a targeted strength training plan to help your body get stronger and prevent injury. Mobility before your runs helps your body get moving properly, and stretching afterwards helps prevent soreness.
Do you need help getting started? Comment “plan” and I’ll send you the first week of my 5k training plan to you for ✨free✨!
Let’s train together without the burn out! 🏃🏼♀️

“I hate running.” - said by me anytime someone has asked me about running. 😅
So why am I doing it?
I felt like I was just spinning me wheels and not really getting the most out of my workouts. I was incredibly bored and wasn’t feeling motivated to do much of anything.
Being a teacher with summers off, I wanted to “learn one new thing” over the break. I googled how to run, and began feeling motivated again!
I knew this was a challenge that I could do, and I had no deadline. Just run.
Now, I’m following a run-walk method of training to be able to run a 5k!
But don’t worry, I’m still getting strength training in there too 😉 would you like to know what are the best exercises to compliment your running? Answer here! 👇🏻
