Ironman Santa Cruz 70.3 Race specific training - riding a headwind. Don’t force it, yield to it. There is nothing to force when riding into a headwind, all you end up doing is expending and wasting more power and energy. Therefore save it, conserve it, and yield. Respect the headwind. Especially if you’ll be racing Santa Cruz 70.3. You’re sure to encounter a wind one way or another. And when you do, say, “I see you wind.” Acknowledge it, ride with it, pace it with the just right power output, then ride the tailwind back into town. Have fun with it! Of course, the directions
Of the wind can change race day. Be prepared.
