We just acquired this fantastic sculpture by Fabien Cappello for the studio! Fabien’s fascinating practice exists somewhere between art, furniture, craft, and product design, engaging with outdoor spaces and interiors while transforming everyday forms and materials into objects that are colorful, strange, joyful, and completely unexpected.
The piece is called “water can stack,” and it perfectly represents who we are: colorful, useful, and creative.
We’re very excited to install it and welcome it into the studio! ❤️

We’re honored to share that Blue Oak Landing has received the 2026 ASLA Northern California Merit Award in Residential Design. 🌳🏆
At Fletcher Studio, we’re proud to have contributed to a project that demonstrates how thoughtful landscape design can support dignity, health, and community.
Located in Vallejo, Blue Oak Landing transforms an underutilized 1.3-acre site into a supportive affordable housing community with 75 homes for families, couples, and individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The landscape extends daily life beyond the buildings, creating spaces for gathering, gardening, play, work, and quiet reflection, all connected by accessible pathways woven through native planting and green infrastructure.
At the heart of the community, a grove of California Blue Oaks anchors a shared courtyard, while reclaimed timber gathering spaces, community gardens, natural play areas, and outdoor workspaces foster opportunities for connection and belonging. Ecological resilience is integrated throughout the site, with bioretention gardens that improve stormwater quality before it reaches Austin Creek, preserved riparian habitat, and a native, climate-adapted planting palette that supports biodiversity while reducing water use.
We’re grateful to our clients, collaborators, and project partners for helping bring this vision to life. Congratulations to the entire team on this recognition!

We’re honored to share that Esprit Park Renovation has received the 2026 ASLA Northern California Merit Award in General Design. 🌲🏆
At Fletcher Studio, we’re proud to have partnered with the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department, UCSF, the Green Benefit District, and the Dogpatch community to reimagine this beloved neighborhood park.
Shaped through a three-year community engagement process, the 2.4-acre renovation transforms Esprit Park into a vibrant urban commons where ecology, recreation, and community life thrive together. The design preserves its iconic 60-year-old redwood grove while creating accessible pathways, distinct spaces for families and off-leash dogs, nature-inspired play and exercise, and welcoming places to gather.
Sustainability is embedded throughout the project—from reclaimed granite curbs and salvaged redwood trunks repurposed as seating and retaining walls, to native planting, bird habitats, and lighting that enhances safety while preserving the park’s forest-like atmosphere. Every intervention was designed to strengthen both ecological resilience and everyday public life.
We’re grateful to our collaborators, clients, and the Dogpatch community for helping bring this vision to life.
Congratulations to the entire project team on this recognition!

This weekend at Jackson Park, music, skating, coffee, donuts, and a park cleanup brought neighbors of every age together. Huge thanks to Friends of Jackson Park and Church of 8 Wheels for reminding us that public space is about so much more than grass and pavement.
Roller disco has a way of breaking down barriers. Kids, parents, longtime residents, first-time visitors—it doesn’t matter. Once the music starts, everyone belongs.
I can also confirm that dancing in bright yellow skates to Stomp! by The Brothers Johnson is excellent cardio… and only mildly humbling. 😄🛼
I’d love to see this energy spread across San Francisco—from Jackson Park to Panther Skate Plaza and beyond. More parks. More skating. More dancing. More community.
See you at the next roller disco. ❤️🛼

Happy International Children’s Day!
At Fletcher Studio, some of our favorite projects are the ones experienced through a child’s eyes. From neighborhood parks and playgrounds to plazas, courtyards, and gathering spaces, we believe great public spaces invite curiosity, imagination, movement, and discovery.
Every slide climbed, fort imagined, path explored, and friendship formed is a reminder that play is not an amenity—it’s essential infrastructure for healthy communities.
Today, we’re celebrating the children who inspire us to design places that are joyful, adventurous, and welcoming for all generations. Here’s to creating public spaces where the next generation can play, grow, and thrive.
