DTX Basketball

It was sooooooo great to see my brother and DTX LEGEND, AIDAN COPELAND yesterday at the UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA!!!

My girls were very excited to take this amazing personalized tour provided by Aidan and what a beautiful campus. It’s great when former players stay in touch and we have always been in touch since the day he graduated.

I am so proud of his accomplishments as he intends on graduating this Spring! We were able to see all the major sports facilities as well as the academic buildings, student union, etc. To be able to see every aspect of the university and the students was and is a great motivator for my oldest! She actually told me she can’t wait to go to college.

I do feel bad for Aidan though because Anna would not let him breathe with her 12,764 questions!!!

I had to make a stop to see Aidan before he graduated and I am so happy to have had the opportunity during my basketball travels and camps in Florida.

Thank you Aidan for a GREAT AND MEMORABLE experience!!!

I would like to thank all the DTX players and parents that helped out this weekend at the Special Olympics soccer tournament!

It is a testament to the players and parents that helped out and gave of their most valuable asset, their TIME!!!

The athletes absolutely demonstrated great joy and competitiveness and it is always such a pleasurable experience. I also love seeing the families and the coaches of these athletes that really need to be admired for their attitudes and work ethic. They are so positive and encouraging! I truly admire all these parents, coaches, administrators, and athletes. Such a great pleasure seeing them all at these events. Great people.

Our players and families kept score, called lines, shagged balls, kept time, and even refereed many games! These events could not go off as perfectly without the efforts of our great DTX family.

For people to give up a beautiful weekend and give back to others shows the quality of people we have at DTX!! The weather was amazing and seeing these athletes is always a highlight for me and the relationships we have made are priceless!!

Thank you to the 20+ of you that helped this weekend and we are now getting ready for the Softball season!

DTX would like to congratulate NAJIMI GEORGE for accepting an offer to play at SAMFORD UNIVERSITY!!!

It today’s game, the portal and NIL can be a very risky venture but Naj came out with an amazing offer to play for one of the best coaches and Universities in the country!!!

Naj is a “CULTURE” player that adds to a team in ways that most do not. Naj plays the game the right way and is a fantastic teammate and makes every team better just by his presence. He plays hard at all times and sacrifices on and off the court. He is a prototypical DTX player and having played for us since the 7th grade, it has been an absolute pleasure watching him develop into a big time player that will now take his talents to the Southern Conference which is one of the most competitive Division I conferences in the country.

Having been involved in Najimi’s recruitment, I could not recommend a better program for Naj to take the next chapter of his life.

Naj has what every player needs, a great family that supports him and trusts the process and does not get overly involved. Naj had many people come after him while he was in High School but he exhibited something few people have today, character and loyalty! It has now paid off in a big time way and we could not be happier for NAJIMI! He deserves this and will reach new heights at Samford! A high level program, fantastic academic University, with a Hall of Fame coach! You can’t do better than that!

Congrats Naj!!! We are so proud of you and your legacy will never waiver at home with DTX. Your name will echo through that gym for decades. Remember, you have many players in the DTX program that look up to you and will follow you closely! We know you will excel at Samford and we are so excited to watch you play! YOU ARE A FANTASTIC ROLE MODEL and positive role models are hard to find! Keep being the man that you are!
