Carmel Valley Farmers Market is getting started. 10am-1pm at Torrey Pines High School.

Lots of great vendors. A fantastic breeze and a beautiful day for an a/c drive and a little market shopping or hitting the coast after a walkthrough.

Small farms. Small business. Big impact

Where I live we are in week 5 of a giant heat wave. Like so hot I didn’t make anything for 3 weeks hot.

Except soap!

This is one that actually just hit Pangaea Outpost

I love how soap can be beautiful! This cinnamon cocoa soap is just that… beautiful!

The color striation, the pours natural groove, the depth of color. Then the white that gives it that look of a hot cocoa cup cross section.

Add the fact that the soap is amazing soap… fabulous!

Always remember: it’s ok to buy pretty things. It’s ok to use pretty things. You deserve pretty things!

What’s up Wednesday

The last few weeks have me resonating with this audio.

It’s been almost 3 years and I am healing!!! I mean I have been healing, but more on paper healing. Now I’m actively healing!

With that has come the realization of how the f**k have I survived and literally been able to do anything!!!!

I mean it was over a year and a half that I would have to go get my ankle manually put back in place every 5-10 days.

I haven’t worn shorts until this massive heat wave because of the haunted house legs. This big vein, but the handfuls of burst spidered veins I now have in both legs. It’s hard to look at the reminders all day long.

I scheduled this acupuncture appointment to be just a few days after an assisted stretch sesh. I wanted an expert insight as to where I am. It is almost just about time to start working out again.

But I rolled into acupuncture and we had a lot of energy put on my biggest injury area. 19 needles in that pic.

Lack of muscle tone. Giant vein. Burst veins all over. Super white healing leg.

I have been in massive survival mode for almost 3 years. But I’m healing.

Big love to Elizabeth Pasimio For going hard on this one. My leg has felt good the last 48!

Heal you guys! Find the things. Look at other options. Keep going…. It will come! But if you quit somewhere along the way, what a travesty.

So here is to my pasty white, vein busted, out of shape legs who have miraculously kept me upright and moving since December 2023, when none of the experts could believe it.

I appreciate you so much! Promise to give you a soak once a week and take you for a ride on the vibraplate more often because you deserve it.

And maybe it’s time to wear shorts again and instead of seeing all the mess that was created in literally a few seconds of trauma, I actively and verbally appreciate the uniqueness you now have that show what an attack you had, what kind of injury you sustained and your not today motherf**ker attitude that kept me going. You go legs!!!!!

Dude… it’s been hot!

Like too hot to make things other than soap and pouring honey.

Generally there is a 2 week window every summer that I stop production and just soap. But we are headed into week 4.

That means I am running out of product.

So I am very early morning and very late night making something and hoping it sets up. The perils of natural products with no preservatives made in small batch in a home built in the 1950’s.

You don’t have A/C??? Of course not!! 1950’s where I could walk to the ocean should I choose. Don’t feel too sad, I haven’t used my heater in over 5 years either.

It’s regularly been over 80° in the house but the humidity is a big culprit. Lots of things don’t want to work right at the moment…

But here is a little insight. Slow melting of all the lovely that goes into, can you guess it????

Lotion dots!!! They are finishing up their time in the fridge. And then they will go in a big jar and wait for packaging.

Products may look a little different the next couple of weeks. But the good news is: you know EVERYTHING is super fresh and there will be LOTS of amazing soap options to get you into 2027!

Stay cool, stay hydrated and come see me soon for the freshest personal care items ever!

I say it all the time… know a farmer!

It seems like there is more and more of an attack on our food system. Convenience and ease marketing that busy us fall into when the reality is we are being fed disease and poison.

A few weeks ago I did a food prep to ensure post surgery meals were set. I figured there were about 70 servings that came out of that 5 hour process.

Was it all the same food. Nope! Beef, chicken, turkey, meatless.

Here is the point. Make your own food. Find actual food suppliers and create real food. Grow stuff. Eat it!

I grew some corn. Keep in mind, I did this in the fill in areas of my garden. I have lined wooden shipping containers that are filled with wicking buckets so they can be more effective waterers. You can see them in the video, and they have been topped off with soil since I shot this. Rough summer conditions!!!!!

Why do I talk about that? You don’t need a ton of space. Now if I was growing corn to eat as corn…. Dude, that’s not enough!

But popcorn… I think that is a pretty good amount. I guess if we eat more popcorn we will need more, but it’s probably close to a years supply. Popcorn once or twice a month and I think we will be good.

Grow something. Start small. In your window. On the porch. Pluck it and eat it.

Then go find a farmer who grows good s**t. And buy their stuff.

Be sure to get organic or heirloom seeds or starts, otherwise it’s just part of the problem. Then grow it. Teach your kids. Teach your grandkids. Teach the neighbors who walk by.

Get yourself a step away from the poison. Go from there.

New project alert.

Funny timing. I had some cattle panels delivered yesterday.

My neighbor texted mid morning and asked if we could chat about the fence.

No big, they are replacing their current fence and wanted to give me a heads up. We talked about the psychopathic former neighbor who illegally removed our joint fence to squeak out another inch of her property.

I did say: I am going to be redoing my gate, but I’ll wait until your fence is complete. 3 hours later my panels arrived. 🤣

Last night I made my not to scale drawing of what had been in my head.

There is another drawing and more supplies coming this weekend. In addition to the new gate that will have a gate, a fence will go up along the front of my house, behind a wood rack. A little step will go up at the porch. Panels will go up along the porch and a gate that should open in the middle sealing off access to the porch. Then the pup will have access to 7/8 of the perimeter of the house. Front door can stay open and homegirl won’t bust out trying to visit the peeps walking by.

Paint. New facade on the porch. All the plans. Delay on the driveway gate part til the neighbs are done. To do’s!

But I’ll just be over here trying to make stuff while it’s too hot and coming up with home projects that it’s way too hot to be doing. Happy Friday!
