Today marks one year since my life changed forever, and it just so happens to be the same day I’m scheduled to get my MRI to determine if the cancer is gone.
Everything is going well, except I’ve started menopause, which was caused by the radiation. I started hormone therapy about four weeks ago, so hopefully I’ll start feeling some relief soon. I’m also dealing with some neuropathy issues.
However, I won’t let any of that slow me down. I will continue to enjoy life, stay positive, and keep moving forward! 💙💪🏼🙏

Well… it’s time for me to say goodbye to the 5:15 class. (I will still continue my personal training business.) I have already notified my regulars.
This has been one of the hardest decisions, but I know it’s the right one. Last year completely changed my perspective. Going through radiation and chemotherapy taught me just how precious time really is. I missed so many moments with my boys, and with Peyton graduating and Preston starting high school, I don’t want to miss any more memories. I also need to make my health a priority as I continue this journey.
August 31 will be my last 5:15 class. You’ll have 13 classes to use up your punch cards, and I’ll also offer drop-in classes for $8 each through the end.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to these women right here. What started as a dream became something so much bigger because of all of them. Smith’s Fitness wouldn’t have been what it was without the amazing women who showed up, worked hard, laughed, encouraged one another, and became so much more than just clients you became friends and family.

Good morning! I got a great workout in this morning💪
The last couple of weeks after finishing chemotherapy have been a little challenging. I wanted so badly to get back to my “normal” life that about two weeks ago I went full speed ahead and got a rude awakening—I got sick. (I’ve been very lucky that I haven’t gotten sick during this whole process.) My body felt like it had been hit by a dump truck, and I had to go back to resting. I’m so over resting, but I needed to realize that recovering from chemotherapy takes time. Most of my side effects are gone, except that I’m still losing my hair, but I’m grateful that I still have hair.
I’m still on this journey, and I’m so thankful for all the love and support💙💙

Last day of chemotherapy!! 🥳👏
One surgery, 28 days of radiation, 8 cycles of chemotherapy 9 months later… OMG!! I’m not going to lie, it’s been rough, but I got through it with all the love and support from family, friends, clients, and even people I don’t know.
Even though I’m done, I’m not actually finished there are still many more scans, blood tests, and follow-ups ahead. But I truly believe the worst is behind me! 💙💙
