Recovery is my sport.
Not because I chose it, but because it chose me.
Today marks six weeks since my PRP treatment on my hip, and recovery has become my full-time training.
This isn’t my first injury. In fact, I have a list of injuries that stretches back nearly eight years. 🫤
At first, I was embarrassed to talk about them. I thought, Why would a personal trainer admit they’re injured? Aren’t we supposed to be strong and have all the answers?
Then I realized something important: athletes get injured.
We train hard. We compete hard. We ask our bodies to do extraordinary things, and sometimes they remind us that they’re human.
This post is for every athlete who is sidelined right now, wondering if they’ll ever get back...like myself.
One thing about me is that I immerse myself completely in whatever I’m trying to learn.
When I lived in Germany, I wanted to become an aerobics instructor. I barely spoke the language, so I learned the words I needed—body parts, movements, and coaching cues and I taught.
When I moved to America, I wanted to teach Tae Bo. Yes... that definitely shows my age! Instead of simply teaching it, I earned my brown belt in Shotokan karate because I wanted to truly understand the discipline behind it.
That’s how I’ve always approached life. I don’t just learn enough to get by... I dive deep.
This injury has sent me down another path of learning. I’ve immersed myself in researching tendinopathy, rehabilitation, menopause, the gap between physical therapy and personal training, and the role hormones play in recovery, especially for active women over 50.
The more I learn, the more I realize how connected everything is. Recovery isn’t just about doing the right exercises, it’s about understanding the whole body.
My goal isn’t simply to get back to racing.
It’s to become a better coach because of this experience. To help bridge the gap between rehabilitation and performance so athletes don’t just return, they return stronger, smarter, and with more confidence.
Recovery is my sport. Not because I chose it, but because it chose me. And if what I learn helps even one athlete return to doing what they love, then every setback has been worth the lesson.
Coach. Athlete. Forever a student. 🤓💪

💚💚💚 So proud of Jessica Wallace, Autumn Piazza, and Jenny Buhrow! They took on their very first outdoor Spartan DEKA strong and mile, showing exactly what determination looks like. They trusted their training, embraced the challenge, and pushed through every zone with grit and heart.
Even though I had to sit this race out because of my injury, watching them compete motivates me so much. It makes me proud to know I might have some small influence on them. Seeing their hard work pay off, watching their confidence grow, and celebrating their accomplishment fuels my drive and reminds me why I love this journey. Congratulations! You earned every step of that finish line, and I couldn't be prouder. This is only the beginning, right? Are you ready for DekaFit? 💪💪💪 LIVE Training Center ISI Elite Training - St. Petersburg, FL

It's hard to believe its already been a week since the ! What an unforgettable weekend. I took on the trifecta. 3 events, one weekend and I'm proud of what my body and mindset were able to accomplish. 1st place -Dekafit teams with my strong partner Kristen: 4th place in DekaMile and 7th place in DekaStrong! These moments didn't come easily. I've been managing hip bursitis for over a year, and even after my 4th time at worlds, I'm reminded that there is always room to learn, adapt, and grow. helped me, smart strength training and mobility. If you are looking for guidance and support I would love to help. DM 😀 These photos capture a few strong moments(trust me, there are at lest 100 bad ones) never the less it is what 53 is 😀🤪💪

starts Fri. and I'm so proud to be heading there for the 4th year in a row! ☺You would think it would get easier, but it doesn't the truth is, I still get nervous😳
The only real difference between me and anyone starting out is this. I am BRAVE enough to TRY, and I show up, even if it's hard. I'm not the fastest. I'm not the strongest. But I am proof that with the right training and mindset and consistency You Can achieve things you never thought possible. If your ready for a new challenge or want a who's been there, who understands real-life struggles and who will push you towards your goals. Send me a DM. I'm taking on a limited number of new clients who want to get stronger fitter and more confident. 💪
