Sac County Chargers

One of the hardest things about being a family is losing a loved one. It leaves a giant hole in our hearts. But it also reminds us of good memories and how important each one of us is. The Chargers have gained another angel....our beloved Katina Aitkens passed away on July 6.
Katina was always smiling, always giggling, and loved her people! She has been a part of team for decades and brought a lot of joy to her team, as well as everyone who knew her!
For those of you who are interested in attending services:
There is a trisagion service on Thursday, July 16, at 6:30 pm at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95819, followed by her funeral service on Friday, July 17 at 11 am at St. Katherine’s Greek Orthodox Church, 9165 Peets Street, Elk Grove, CA.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations made to Best Buddies or Special Olympics.

Chargers 2026 Bowling Season has begun!

Announcement: the Sac County Chargers have a new team store!! You will now be able to order a wide variety of merchandise to showcase your team spirit that we have never had before. You will be able to choose your colors, your style, and with some items, have your name included!
Deadline to order is July 22nd! Orders will be made and ready for pick-up/distribution mid-August.

The medals were amazing, but the memories were the real gold 💛💜⚡️

Day 2 of the competition at Special Olympics Summer Games wrapped up strong for our Chargers track team! 🏃☀️

Today our athletes competed in the 1500m run, 200m run, Turbo Javelin, and closed out the weekend with an incredible relay performance — bringing home GOLD! 🥇 What a way to finish!

Our relay team was exceptional, and one of the best parts of the weekend was watching our athletes support, encourage, and look out for one another every step of the way. 💜💛⚡️

Together, the Chargers brought home an amazing 7 gold 🥇, 4 silver 🥈, 4 bronze 🥉, and 8 ribbons 🎗️ this weekend!

So proud of this team and all the heart, determination, and teamwork they showed. What a weekend at Summer Games! ☀️🙌🏻💛💜⚡️
