💙📣 AYC PRIVATE TEAM GROUP REMINDER 📣💙

We’ve received several requests to join our Littles, Juniors, and Bigs private team groups, so we wanted to share a quick reminder about how membership in these groups works.

🔒 ALL MEMBERSHIP QUESTIONS MUST BE ANSWERED TO BE APPROVED.

When requesting to join a private team group, you will be asked:

💙 Which current AYC cheerleader you are connected to
💙 Your relationship to that cheerleader
💙 To agree to the group rules

If these questions are not answered, the request to join will be denied.

These questions aren’t there to make joining difficult. Our private team groups contain team-specific information, schedules, reminders, photos, updates, and other details involving our cheerleaders. We need to know who has access to those spaces and why they are there.

Our private team groups are intended primarily for parents, guardians, and immediate family members who need access to their cheerleader’s team information. They are not general community or supporter groups.

Friends, extended family, former AYC families, and community supporters are always welcome to follow and interact with our public AYC page, where we share game days, events, fundraisers, photos, program updates, and plenty of ways to support our cheerleaders! 💙🤍

Keeping our athletes’ information and team spaces private and safe is important to us. If we can’t identify who you are or which current cheerleader you’re connected to, we simply can’t approve access.

🍪🎀 AYC ONLINE BAKE SALE AUCTION! 🎀🍪

Calling all bakers! 🧁🍪🥧

AYC is kicking off our first fundraiser of the season with an Online Bake Sale Auction on Sunday, September 20!

We’re looking for families, friends, and community members who would be willing to donate a homemade baked good for the auction. Cookies, brownies, cupcakes, breads, pies, cakes, whoopie pies, specialty treats - if you love to bake it, we’d love to auction it! 💙

📝 Baked Good Donation Forms Due: September 16
📸 Photos Due: September 19
🍪 Online Auction: Sunday, September 20

To participate, please complete our Bake Sale Donation Form by September 16 and let us know what you'll be making.

A photo of the actual item being donated will need to be submitted by Saturday, September 19, so we can use it for your auction listing. This allows everyone to bake as close to auction and pickup time as possible so items stay fresh!

📍 Donated baked goods will be dropped off at the practice field on Monday, September 21 from 4:30–5:30 PM, immediately before winner pickup.

📣💙 HOMECOMING PREP + PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 💙📣

This Monday, September 21, AYC will be practicing inside at MVCS as we get ready for Homecoming!

🕔 Practice: 5:00–6:30 PM
📍 MVCS — Indoors

Along with regular practice, we’ll be getting a few special things ready for Homecoming! 🎉

We’ll be creating a large AYC Homecoming banner that each cheerleader will add their handprint to, as well as prepping individual megaphones with each cheerleader’s name.

🙋‍♀️ This is where we could use some parent volunteers!

Our cheerleaders have lots of practicing to do to get ready for Homecoming, so we don’t want to take their practice time away to work on the projects. The girls will come over briefly to add their handprints to the banner, but otherwise they’ll continue practicing with their teams while our volunteers work on the banner and megaphones.

If you’re willing to lend a hand 🖍️ we’d love to have a few parents help us get everything ready while the girls practice.

📅 HOMEcoming heads-up: As we get closer to Homecoming, we may extend a practice and/or add an additional practice next week to make sure our teams have the time they need to prepare. Nothing has been finalized yet, so please keep an eye out for more information once we have those details worked out!

💙📣 AYC COACH SPOTLIGHT 📣💙

🎀 MEET COACH APRIL — BIGS

We’ve reached our final Coach Spotlight, and we’re wrapping up the series with the other half of our Bigs coaching team!

Meet Coach April, who has spent eight years coaching both AYF/AYC and competitive cheer and also serves as President of AYC. 💙🤍📣

💙 A LITTLE INTRO FROM COACH APRIL:

“Hi everyone! I’m April, and I’m excited to be back coaching our Bigs this season! 📣💙

I’ve been coaching cheer for the past 8 years through both AYF/AYC and competitive cheer, spending most of those years with our older athletes.

One of the most rewarding parts of coaching for me is watching the growth that happens throughout a season. Sometimes it’s mastering a new skill, building confidence, or it’s the little things that may not seem big at the time but add up to so much by the end of the year. I love being able to play a part in helping athletes develop their skills and their love for the sport while making sure they’re having fun along the way.

This season, my hope is that our Bigs come together as a team, build friendships, grow their skills and confidence, and make plenty of great memories together. Most importantly, I want them to have a season they truly enjoy and can look back on!

Outside of AYC, I’m a small business owner and a mom to 3 amazing daughters, all of whom have cheered themselves, including with AYF. My youngest is a senior this year and has spent her high school years junior coaching alongside me; so cheer has definitely been a big part of our family! 💙
I myself was also a cheerleader years ago. I cheered for 5 years in school. Before that, I also cheered for AYF! Yes, it’s been around that long!

Along with coaching the Bigs, I also serve as President of AYC. I want our athletes and families to know that whether you need me as a coach or as President, my door is always open. If you have a question, concern, need some extra support, or just need someone to talk to, please never hesitate to reach out.

I’m so excited for all the memories we’re going to make this season and can’t wait to see what’s ahead for our Bigs and all of AYC!

We’re incredibly grateful for each of the coaches and junior coaches who give their time, energy, and heart to our cheerleaders. 🎀 MEET JUNIOR COACH PEYTON — BIGS

Our Coach Spotlight series is heading to the Bigs! 💙🤍

First up, meet Junior Coach Peyton, who brings years of cheer experience and a lifelong love of the sport to our Bigs this season! 📣

💙 A LITTLE INTRO FROM JUNIOR COACH PEYTON

“Hello! My name is Coach Peyton, and I coach the Bigs alongside my mom!

I’m a senior at MVHS and have been cheering for nine years, including several years through the AYC program. Cheer has been a love of mine since I was little, and for the past four years I’ve also had the opportunity to junior coach!

I’m extremely excited to be back with the Bigs and can’t wait for an amazing season filled with lots of fun, growth, and great memories!” 💙📣

Peyton brings a unique perspective to our coaching team, she knows what it’s like to grow up in the sport, to be an athlete within this program, and now to help guide the next group of AYC cheerleaders.

We love seeing our former athletes come back and give their time to the program that helped grow their own love of cheer, and we’re excited to have Junior Coach Peyton helping lead our Bigs this season! 💙🤍🎀

📣 AYC GAME DAY UPDATE

Due to the current wet field conditions and today’s expected weather, AYC cheerleaders will not be attending any of today’s games.

🏈 Football games at 11am & 1pm are still being played as scheduled.

We hope everyone stays dry, and we look forward to having our cheerleaders back on the sidelines next game! 💙🤍📣

🎀 MEET COACH MEL — JUNIORS

Next up in our Coach Spotlight series is Coach Mel! 💙

Coach Mel is returning for her 3rd year coaching our AYC Juniors, and we are so excited to have her back with us for another season! She brings so much cheer experience, encouragement, and enthusiasm to the team, and we love having coaches who genuinely enjoy watching our athletes grow and develop their love for the sport. 📣

💙 A LITTLE INTRO FROM COACH MEL

“Hi everyone! I’m Coach Mel, and I’m so excited to be back for my 3rd year coaching the Juniors team with AYC! ☺️📣

Outside of cheer, I’m an Ed Tech at MVCS and have been teaching for 6 years. During the summer months, I work at Kawanhee Inn in Weld. I’m also a mom to a 12-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl, so I am always on the go with some type of sport. 🤪

During the winter months, I am the assistant coach for our middle school competition cheerleading team and also coach another youth team with WMC.

One of my favorite parts about being a coach is seeing the growth in the athletes over the season and years and watching them fall in love with the sport.

I’m excited for another fun season filled with cheers, laughs, new skills, and lots of memories!

Next up in our Coach Spotlight series, meet Coach Amy, who is returning for her fourth year coaching AYC and her second season with our Juniors! 💙🤍

💙 A LITTLE INTRO FROM COACH AMY:

“Hi everyone! 👋

I’m so excited to be back for my fourth year coaching AYC! I spent my first two years coaching the Littles, and this will be my second year coaching the Juniors! 📣

Outside of cheer, I’m a 3rd grade teacher at MVCS and have been teaching for 10 years. I’m also a mom to an 8-year-old, a 5-year-old, and a 7-month-old — who just happens to come to every practice with me! 🥰

I can’t wait for another fun season filled with cheers, laughs, new skills, and lots of memories! I’m looking forward to getting to know all of our cheerleaders and families and watching the kids grow throughout the season.

“Hello everyone! My name is Nicole, and I coach the Littles. This is my second season coaching this amazing group!

When I’m not coaching AYC, I’m attending college classes online, running my cotton candy business, and working multiple jobs. You may also recognize me from coaching WMC this past winter season!

I’m a mom to three amazing kids, two of whom also cheer within the AYC program.

I’m looking forward to an amazing season of growth, team bonding, building confidence, finding our cheer voices, and — most importantly — having so much fun!” 💙📣
