"You should totally teach a class for Wellness Week."
⬆ My coworker said that to me back in 2018. I threw up in my mouth a little bit. (TMI? Maybe.)
I'd taught exactly ONE yoga class to fellow trainees who were basically obligated to be nice to me.
My inner critic had excuses ready before she finished her sentence. I didn't feel ready. What would people think?
I said yes anyway. One class, not a career change, I reminded myself.
Spoiler alert: they asked me to teach twice a month. I kept it up for 5 years.
But my favorite part wasn't the class. It was the conversations after, rolling up mats and hearing how people's lives were shifting.
I followed that nudge into a coaching certification. And that's where the business that fit me was born.
If I'd waited to feel ready, I'd still be telling that coworker "maybe next year."
Plenty of us have our version of the rolled-up yoga mat. The pottery wheel. The sourdough starter named Betty. The sketchbook on the nightstand.
If yours keeps quietly asking to become something more, my free talk at the Hobby to More Summit (Oct 1-4) is for you.
