Hey guys, Alyson here! 💜💙
I wanted to come on here and express how truly grateful I am for my father, Josh. As many of you know, he is one of the hardest-working, kindest, and most loving people I know.
While I’ve been up at school, he’s been working his tail end off in the garage, day and night, during his free time. He’s been getting my car fixed up while also getting his own car ready to race.
This week, especially, he’s been running around making sure everything is ready so I can race at Weedsport in the Novice class. From making sure I have the correct GM seals and a fire bottle to getting the proper fuel tank straps, he’s been doing everything he can to make sure I’m DIRTcar legal and ready to hit the track.
Now, I know sometimes at the racetrack, and especially in the garage, we can get a little hot-headed. 😂 But that’s because we put so much time, dedication, and passion into this sport.
After my last race before leaving for school, we thought we were going to be done for the season, or at least until Outlaw Weekend, after the wrecks I was involved in. But as always, we’ve continued pushing forward.
I’m unbelievably grateful that I get to share this sport with my father. The amount of time, effort, and money that goes into racing is something not everyone understands, but having the opportunity to do it together makes it all worth it.
Some post-race days are rough for us. We sit down and recap what went well, what didn’t go so well, and what we need to work on. Sometimes, we have to take a weekend or two off to regroup and get the car fixed.
We knew moving up to a Sportsman would involve a lot of sacrifices for both of us. It hasn’t always been easy, especially competing in a class where some have free rides and seemingly endless pocketbooks. But we continue to show up, learn, and push forward.
So I just wanted to come on here and say how grateful I am for my father, Josh, and especially for all of YOU guys! ❤️ We wouldn’t be here without all of your support !
I’m grateful to be able to say that my dad shows up for my racing every. single. day. He pushes me to be better every single time, and I wouldn’t want to be on this journey with anyone else.
Thank you, Dad, for everything you do. I appreciate you more than words can explain. Racing isn’t just about the car or the results, but the memories we’re building together ❤️🏁
