Dear Fellow, Boaters,
I am reaching out to request the community’s support in assisting Scott Winslow, a long-standing member of Wessagusset, to return home to Boston. Scott is critically ill and is currently hospitalized in Fiji after suffering from a medical event while on vacation. His family is making every effort to arrange his transfer back to MA so that he can receive the necessary and life saving care he needs from a more advanced, local hospital system. As there are no available insurance options for this situation, any contribution, regardless of the amount, would be greatly appreciated by the family.

This is a reminder that the June QBRWA Meeting is tonight at Wollaston Yacht Club. Please bring information regarding any interclub events you are hosting. Please also bring your club's event calendar so that we can select a date and location to do a Junior Event . Last year we had two great Taco Nights and the Juniors enjoyed both.

The Scholarship Applications postmark deadline is this Friday June 26th. We have received many applications thus far and are excited to select and announce the winners at the Junior Awards Ceremony on Sunday July 19th.

Quincy Bay Race Week Association
Application for Scholarship

Dear Scholarship Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in applying for the Quincy Bay Race Week Association Scholarship. QBRWA will be offering three $1000.00 Scholarships as well as two $500.00 Scholarships this year.

The Officers and Trustees of the association hope to continue to offer a scholarship each year to help promote and strengthen QBRWA in the boating community.

To be eligible for the award you must be a member or child or grandchild of a member of one of the eight participating Member Yacht Clubs and you must be accepted to pursue education beyond the secondary school level at an institution deemed accredited by the Scholarship Fund Committee. High school seniors and college undergraduates are eligible for the award. This year’s scholarship will be awarded based on an essay. The essay must be 500 words or less.


Essay Topic:
" Do you believe schools should ban smartphones? ."

All essays will be reviewed by the QBRWA Scholarship Committee. The winning essay will be announced at the QBRWA Race Week Awards Ceremony on Sunday July 19 at Town River Yacht Club.

No hand delivered submissions will be accepted.
All applications must be postmarked no later than June 26, 2026.
