The 2026 Boss McMabe regatta was sailed today with two races.
The first race was started at 1:15pm. Wind was 8-10 knots from the East at 80 degrees. The race started at 22; and the course was 5, 15, & finish at 22, all to port.
168 won the start, 184 was first to tack towards Nut Island and was ahead once the boats crossed again.
184 rounded the first mark at 1:30 with 168 20 seconds behind. 183 rounded 3rd a minute and a half later.
184 rounded 5 at 1:49:45 with 184 right in their tail. 183 rounded at 1:51:15.
168 took the win at 2:07:15. 184 was 2nd at 2:08:12 and 183 in 3rd at 2:09:00.
The second race was started at 2:25pm with the course 5, 22, 5, 15 all to port. Wind was 10 knots from heading 75 degrees.
168 rounded the first mark at 2:28:15, 183 in second 45 seconds behind. 184 rounded at 2:40:30.
168 rounded 22 at 2:49:15 with 183 15 seconds back and 184 another 15 seconds back.
168 rounded 5 at 3:02:45, 184 at 3:04:10 and 183 at 3:04:55.
The course was shortened to finish at 15 near the club.
First was 168 at 3:19:50, 2nd was 184 at 3:21:31, and 183 in 3rd at 3:22:20.
First 168, Michael Marcel & Lionel Andre 1, 1 = 2 pts
Second 184 Rich McCabe & Bobby McCabe 2, 2 = 4 pts
Third 183 Steve Reid & Kelly Ross 3, 3 = 6 pts
Mudflats in front of SYC. They had 35 minutes to hook up 11 moorings due to tide. Thank you goes out to Moose Marcel, Rich McCabe and Lionel Andre.

Line spliced to chain, attach plastic bottles, drop in area of mooring block at high tide (they will stay in area). Tomorrow am go out at low tide and hook up chain to mooring blocks. We used to call this last step geeking in the mud.
