🦋 CREATURE REPORT: MOTH MAN 🦋

Creature Classification: Cryptid
Realm Status: Recently Spotted 👀
Known Habitat: Dark Forest… possibly your backyard at night.
Disposition: Suspiciously adorable. Potentially feral.

Field Notes:
A strange new creature has been spotted wandering into the Katapillar Realm. Reports describe enormous wings, suspiciously large feet, glowing red eyes, and an unsettling amount of fluff.

After further investigation, I can confirm this is Moth Man. 🖤❤️

This little cryptid came from a new pattern I picked up, but naturally I couldn't leave well enough alone. 😂 After seeing Grim Grinning Goats version, I had to give him a go and make my own creepy little Moth Man version.

And now he's been deemed worthy of leaving the Realm…

🎃 Moth Man will be making his debut at the Tacoma Halloween Parade & Street Fair!

So if you're wandering through the parade and spot a giant-winged, red-eyed cryptid hanging around my booth…

Please do not feed the Moth Man.
Or do. He looks like he could use a snack. 👀🤣

Katapillar Creations will be at the Tacoma Halloween Parade & Street Fair on:

🗓️ Saturday, October 17
⏰ 3 PM – 8 PM
📍 N Proctor between 26th & 29th St
📍 27th St between N Proctor & N Adams

And yes… I’m bringing the weird. 👀🧶🖤

This is one of those events where you absolutely should come prepared to wander, eat something delicious, watch some ridiculous Halloween magic, and discover things you didn't know you needed.

And naturally, I’ll have a collection of Katapillar creatures coming along for the ride. 👀

Look at this tiny little troublemaker!! 😭💚

I've been working on some smaller creatures lately, and this little frog was just TOO CUTE not to share.

BUT ALSO…

👀 The workshop is officially evolving.

My new yarn shelving ARRIVED TODAY!! 🧶📚✨

Which means I'm slowly turning the chaos into an actual functioning creative space instead of just… piles of yarn that occasionally whisper to me. 😂

We're making progress!!

So now I need to know:

Well…

HE’S DONE. 💀🐐💚

Apparently reorganizing can wait. The important thing is that we now have a tiny undead goat running around the Katapillar Realm.

And yes… his little toad companion is finished too. 👀🐸

But one creature at a time. 😈

🐐🐸 Workshop Break: Creature Edition

I was supposed to be reorganizing today.
Was. Supposed. To. 👀🤣

But then the yarn started doing things… and suddenly there’s a mini zombie goat and a mini toad taking shape on my workbench. 🧶💚

The workshop still has approximately 847 things that need to be organized, sorted, moved, labeled, and probably exorcised…
…but today?

Today we’re having FUN. 😈✨

🐐 Zombie Goat: currently under construction
🐸 Mini Toad: also plotting something
🧶 Workshop: still an absolute disaster
💚 Me: having the time of my life anyway

Us: tired.
The U-Haul: suspiciously full.
The vinyl: survived.
The guitars: survived.
Our sanity: currently under investigation. 👀

And now we go home to unpack approximately 847 things, remember what day it is, and pretend we know what a “regular schedule” looks like. 😂

Then?

Back to chaos.

🚗✨ Adventure prep day!

Today's mission: pack the last of our gear, pick up the rental car, and get everything loaded up for tomorrow's departure!

The workshop is (mostly) packed, the creatures are ready for the ride, and the next chapter of the Katapillar adventure is about to begin. 🧶🦋

Tomorrow we hit the road for a cross-country journey! Expect travel updates, weird roadside finds, fiber adventures, and maybe even a few new creature inspirations along the way.

What a fun day! 🖤🧶

The neighborhood craft sale is officially wrapped up, and I got to spend the day visiting with neighbors, meeting new faces, and sending a few handmade creatures off to their new homes. ✨

Every event reminds me why I love doing this. It's never just about selling crochet—it's about the conversations, the smiles, and watching someone find the creature that was meant for them.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by today! Now it's time to rest... because my birthday is tomorrow, and our big cross-country adventure is just around the corner. 🚗💜
