Spyro finally gets to meet the vet Monday! He gets a full soundness exam and head to toe evaluation!

He has such a good mind, so willing! He got to visit the round pen today! Forgive the ground this is just a temporary spot lol but we have all kinds of fun things in there for Spyro to get used too! He really wasnt phased at all by any of the flapping plastic bags or milk cartons, he wasn’t scared of frank, he was weary of the tarp at first. We had a first lesson on lunging and he did really well. He didn’t freak out not seeing the other horses either, I was for sure he was going to lose it being away from everyone, nope he was all eyes on me.

Haha Joey is like get this thing away from me and come let me in so I can go in my barn with the fans. Joey is moody in the heat haha at least he isn’t raging at him no more like a horse with rabies 😅

Working on tying and he of course does it like a pro, he picks up all four feet like a gentleman stands to be fly sprayed, bathed, and groomed, gives to pressure, moves off of pressure, backs, crosses over and pivets, the whole nine yards. He is making it super easy, he is like an old soul.

Worked on the arena after all the flooding and got it back to being somewhat level, the flooding made huge erosions in the arena ugh but at least its level, it still needs work but it’s better than concrete and water erosion cliffs.

Clay soil when it dries it’s like concrete, great base though, So this is a night and day different it looked like a dessert before this lol

Once the arena building is up and we fix the draining issues with better excavation we will add the good footing. Happy we even have this though! It’s a start!

Joey wasn’t in on the fun this morning. He’s being pretty aggressive toward Spyro, especially when Spyro comes over for attention. With Spyro being so young, passive, and being a baby , it’s just not worth the risk, so they’ll stay separated for now!

I’m sure the “new shiny baby” phase will wear off with time. Joey didn’t even nuzzle muzzles with Mochie for almost TWO months after we got him he wasn’t exactly a Mochie fan at first either I didn’t put Mochie in with Joey until month 5 lol joey could care less at that point, Joey just needs time to accept the new guy and learn to share his humans 😂❤️
