🥊❤️ Who would have thought that a like from Popó (4 times world champion ) would take me back in time…
My boxing journey began around the end of 1999, going into the year 2000.
I used to watch the exciting fights and Popó’s knockouts on Globo, and I was amazed. I already liked fighting 😂😂 and wanted to learn a little more… because, from the outside, it looked so easy! 😂🥊
At that time, I was living at my uncle Tace’s house, sharing a room with my uncle Toi. I told him that I wanted to learn boxing, and he told me about Coliseu, where I could train for free, because we didn’t have money to pay for any kind of class or activity.
Well… the rest of the story you already know. 🥊
What many people may not know is that moment was my START.
I had no idea where boxing would take me. I didn’t know that one day I would represent Brazil, win titles, travel the world, and experience things that would completely change my life.
But it all started with a desire, an opportunity, and taking that first step.
And that’s the message I want to leave: to change your life, whether in boxing, business, education, or any other area, you need to find your START.
Sometimes your START can be a person, an opportunity, or simply the decision to begin.
Popó, you may have never imagined this, but those fights and those knockouts I watched on Globo were one of the things that made me want to start boxing. You were my START.

And today, at 41 years old, more than 25 years later, I’m still living the dream that started back then, watching your fights on television.
