What a way to kick off our first 14U tournament!
🔥 5-0 on the weekend
🔥 Outscored our opponents 42-4
🔥 The ONLY undefeated team in the double-elimination tournament
🔥 3-0 in bracket play — outscoring opponents 33-0 and allowing ZERO runs!
We were headed to the Gold Bracket Championship game, but Mother Nature had different plans. 🌧️ With the tournament cut short, GWAVE was awarded CHAMPIONS! 🏆
So proud of the way these girls came out and competed this weekend. Three bracket games. Three wins. Three shutouts. What a way to start 14U!
We’ll be back at it in a couple of weeks. Until then, it’s back to work. 💪🥎

Congratulations to Jackie Meeks '32, who has been selected as a finalist for WTKR News 3's Everyday Hero Humanitarian Award!

Jackie was first named as an Everyday Hero for her work as an ambassador for the annual Anthem LemonAid fundraiser. All proceeds benefit CHKD's Cancer & Blood Disorders Center, helping local children and families facing childhood cancer.

Now, Jackie is one of 12 Everyday Heroes being considered for the Humanitarian Award, which honors an Everyday Hero who has made a significant impact in our community. You can support Jackie by voting for her once a day through August 30 at wtkr.com/everydayhero2026. The winner of the Everyday Hero Humanitarian Award will be announced at WTKR's award ceremony later this year.
