🚨 FIRST EVER Pre ECNL WIN 🚨

Having come close last week (1-0 up with game abandoned) our Mako U11 boys won their first full Pre ECNL game of the season yesterday with a 3-2 victory over Ft Lauderdale United.

It was a hard fought comeback having been 2-1 behind going into the second half. Coach Mike and the boys have been relishing this chance to play up against some of the top teams in the State and they certainly didn’t disappoint yesterday.

Coach Dwayne’s U12 boys came very close to making it a double victory, leading 4-3 into the final five minutes they couldn’t quite hold on, the game ending 4-4.

Overall it has been a good start to our Pre ECNL campaign. Our players have risen to the occasion and our teams are certainly not out of place. We are excited to see how the season plays out for both teams.

We have a very strong U11 Boys age group at Mako with three teams completing across the various leagues.

Coach Jean’s team had two games this weekend starting down in Boca. Our boys battled hard from beginning to end, but we came up short with a 5–0 loss. But that didn’t stop them.

On Sunday, against Boynton, they came back with a whole different energy. They shook off the previous day, worked together, played their hearts out, and kept putting shots on goal.

And all that hard work paid off… 2–1 WIN!

Coach Jean had this to say; “I am so proud of these boys! They showed that one tough game doesn’t define you. You shake it off, learn from it, come back stronger, and keep fighting as a TEAM!”

Coach Tamer & Coach Leon have been working very hard with our Mako U10 boys teams and are very happy that they are showing progress and improvement.

On Saturday they secured a 3–2 home victory through a strong, consistent display against W&H in the TFL.

Yesterday they traveled to Boynton and fell 4–2; despite effective teamwork in the second half that produced two goals, they could not reach a draw.

Both Coach Tamer and Coach Leon are proud of the boys and are positive that there is a lot more to come from this age group

Saturday evening saw Mako teams play out a couple of great games with our U11 Boys Blue team taking on a very well organized Miami Academy FC team which finished 2-2.

Our U11 Girls playing on the adjacent field also put in a fantastic performance against the visiting Miami Springs team. Neither team would give an inch and the game ended in a 0-0 tie.

Coach Vinny had this to say; “I am very proud of the way these girls played today. They are really starting to work together as a team. They work hard and they never give up. This team is a true pleasure to coach.”

Another of our U9 Boys, Coach Alfredo’s Blue team had the home-field advantage as they took on Elite Orange yesterday morning.

The boys got off to a slower start than they had hoped, allowing Elite to build an early lead. Once they settled into the game and found their rhythm, however, their energy completely changed. They began playing with more confidence, working together, and fighting for every opportunity to close the gap.

Although the final result didn’t reflect the effort they put forward, the boys never stopped battling. They showed resilience, determination, and heart as they continued pushing until the very end.

Every game is an opportunity to learn and grow, and this team showed exactly what they’re capable of once they found their momentum. We’re proud of the fight they showed and excited to see them carry it into their next match!

All of our U9 Boys teams had games this weekend and Coach Robert’s team secured a very solid 1-1 tie with Jupiter on Saturdays afternoon.

With relentless pressure, impressive speed, and some nice passing, they kept the game scoreless through the first quarter.

The Mako boys took a 1–0 lead in the second quarter and fought hard to hold it until Jupiter tied the game on a free kick in the final quarter, ending the match in a 1–1 draw.

For a team with so many boys playing together for the first time, they showed incredible grit, teamwork, and determination. We couldn’t be prouder of the fight they brought to the field today!

It was a busy day for our Mako teams yesterday and we have plenty to bring you. We’ll start with our U9 Boys Green team who on the Hurricanes battled from the opening whistle to the very end!

The boys controlled possession for most of the game and looked like the stronger team for much of the match. Both sides fought hard in a back-and-forth battle, with neither team willing to give up the lead.

In a true nail biter, the Hurricanes narrowly came out on top, 4–3.

Our boys showed tremendous skill, determination, and fight. We look forward to the next time these two teams meet!
