Sam can impact the game from multiple spots offensively and through the midfield. Her ability to contribute in different roles comes from an athletic foundation built across three sports: lacrosse, soccer and basketball.

Madeline Butler is a 2028 goalie for Ward Melville who brings composure, communication and competitiveness to the cage. She works to command her defense, reacts quickly to shots and competes on every possession.

A 2026 Apex All-American — Apex 60, Madeline continues to develop her game while competing as a two-sport varsity athlete in lacrosse and field hockey.

But Madeline’s story goes well beyond the cage.

She carries a 4.0 GPA, serves as a Morgan’s Message Ambassador, and has already identified academic interests centered around sports medicine and the sciences—including pre-medical studies, biology, nutrition sciences and physiology.

Mairead Jaffe is a 2028 right-handed attacker from Shoreham-Wading River who plays with purpose. She has multiple dodges in her game and does a great job changing gears to create separation and put pressure on a defense.

What stands out about Mairead is her aggressive mentality. She is determined to get to goal, but she also has the vision to draw defenders and create opportunities for her teammates.

She brings energy and effort to everything she does and continues to develop into a versatile, high-ceiling attacker.

A multi-sport athlete and Shoreham-Wading River varsity lacrosse player, Mairead has also earned multiple tournament-game MVP honors.

Kailey Finley is a 2028 attacker for Ward Melville Varsity who can create offense from the crease and elbow. Give her even a small window and she has the ability to find her shot.

Kailey uses her size well, has multiple dodges in her game, and can be just as dangerous creating for a teammate as she is finishing herself. Her combination of length, left-handed presence and ability to score in tight spaces makes her a matchup to watch.

Next up, Keira Flynn, a 2028 midfielder from Ward Melville.

The first thing you notice about Keira is her speed. She can fly between the 30s, impact the game in transition and play both ends of the field. She takes draws, competes in the circle and consistently uses her speed to help create possessions for her team.

Keira is a true two-way midfielder who brings athleticism, effort and versatility every time she steps on the field.

That athleticism extends beyond lacrosse. Keira is a two-sport varsity athlete in lacrosse and field hockey, an Apex All-Star and earned LILJ Class of 2028 Girls All-Long Island Honorable Mention recognition.

Taylor brings strength and toughness to the defensive end. She competes for every possession, attacks ground balls and has the physicality to come away with the ball in traffic.

One of Taylor’s strengths is what happens after she wins possession. She is confident carrying the ball through the clear and has the ability to turn a defensive stop into transition going the other way.

She’s strong, competitive and willing to do the work that doesn’t always show up on a stat sheet—but helps a defense succeed.
