Yough High School Clay Target Team

Reminder our Open House is tonight

A few of our athletes and coaches participated in the Fall Kickoff tonight to help kick off the 2026 fall sports season!

Last weekend, six of our Yough Clay Target athletes traveled to the Beaver Falls Sportsman Association to compete in the 3rd Annual Western PA Youth Outdoorsman Inc. Invitational — and they absolutely represented Yough with pride!

🏆 Graidyn Hurst had an incredible day, shooting a 94 and finishing in a 4-way tie for High Overall — the highest award offered at the tournament! Graidyn went on to win the shoot-off and bring home the High Overall Championship! What an accomplishment! 👏🎯

🥇 Ethan Baker took 1st Place in the Elite 16–18 Division and also earned the opportunity to compete in the High Gun shoot-off!

🥉 Brayden Anderson shot an impressive 87, putting him in a 3-way tie for 3rd Place in the Advanced 16–18 Division. Brayden stepped up in the shoot-off and came away with 3rd Place!

🎯 Kiara Sudaric shot an 83, tying for 3rd Place in Top Female Overall High Gun.

🎯 Mackenzie Smartnick shot a 78, earning 6th Place in Top Female Overall High Gun.

Our six shooters combined broke an incredible 450 out of 500 birds, earning 2nd Place Overall as a team! 🥈

On Day 2️⃣ of the Invitational (Sporting Clays), four of our athletes shot with the Westmoreland Top Guns who placed 🥇1st in Sporting Clays. Congrats Aidan, Ethan, Graidyn and DJ!!

Keep up the hard work, kids! The future is looking bright! 💥

Any students in grades 6–12 who are interested in learning more are invited to come see what the Yough Clay Target Team is all about on August 26th!

Our fall season is right around the corner. Students in grades 6 through 12, with an interest in shooting trap, are welcome to join. Registration begins Monday, August 3rd. If interested in joining please message our page.

Congratulations to the Westmoreland Top Guns for their performance at SCTP Nationals.

One of our coaches shared this and I felt it was something worth sharing. This was from an an article about the USA High School Clay Target League National Championships. This puts it into perspective what an honor & achievement it is, in & of itself, for an athlete to earn a spot on the national stage...

Nearly 3,000 athletes from 469 high schools shot the July 8-12 National event in Mason, MI. Getting there took a full spring season, when more than 40,000 student-athletes competed on over 2,000 high school teams nationwide, and only the highest final season averages earned a registration slot.

From our team we had 11 athletes attend and 3 more qualified but did not participate. What an accomplishment for our small town team!! 💚🧡
