📣 PYAA NIGHT AT PICKERINGTON CENTRAL — THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1! 🏐

Just a quick reminder that PYAA Night at Pickerington Central is Thursday, October 1st! 💜🖤

We WILL still have volleyball practices that night. We will not be cancelling practices because we already have several practice nights in October that will be impacted by Parent-Teacher Conferences and Trick-or-Treat.

Unfortunately, we do not have enough gym space available to reschedule all of the Thursday night practices.

We know it’s a busy night, but keeping practices on the schedule will help us avoid even more disruptions throughout October.

🚨 ATTENTION 3/4 DIVISION PARENTS & COACHES 🚨

We need everyone’s help with an important gym entrance reminder at Toll Gate Elementary.

❌ DO NOT attempt to enter through Toll Gate Elementary Door Z
❌ DO NOT ring the Door Z doorbell to gain access to the building
⏰ DO NOT ENTER THE TGE GYM BEFORE 6:00 PM

All volleyball players, parents, and coaches should enter through the Middle School at Door EE.

Latchkey is still using the gym at Toll Gate Elementary until 6:00 PM, and early entry through the elementary side is creating issues for their program and the Toll Gate staff.

We have previously communicated the designated entrance and the 6:00 PM entry time, and there is also a sign posted on Door Z reminding everyone of this.

If practices need to start a few minutes later to allow everyone to enter through the proper entrance at 6:00 PM, that is completely fine. The important thing is that we eliminate early entry through the elementary side.

🙏 We really appreciate everyone’s help in getting on the same page. We want PYAA Volleyball to work smoothly with Latchkey and the Toll Gate staff, and following these simple guidelines will help make that happen.

🏐 PYAA VOLLEYBALL WINTER LEAGUE? 🏐

Hey Everyone!

I’ve been getting several questions from parents asking, “Is PYAA Volleyball going to have a Winter League?”

First, if multiple parents are already asking about a winter league, I have to give a HUGE thank you to our Board Members and Volunteer Coaches! 🙌

The fact that so many players and families are already asking about another season is a great reflection of the experience you all helped create. We absolutely could not do this without our volunteers!

Unfortunately, we will not be running a PYAA Winter League. Winter is primarily Club Volleyball and Basketball season, and with so many of our players participating in those programs, we simply wouldn’t have enough players and coaches to run a league the way we would want to.

🏐 WHAT SHOULD YOUR PLAYER DO THIS WINTER?

If your player loved volleyball and wants to continue playing and getting significantly better, I highly recommend looking into club volleyball.

Some Central Ohio clubs to consider include:

• Mintonette
• APEX
• HOVA
• GCVB
• Elite East
• Eastside

If your player isn’t quite ready for the commitment of club volleyball—or you’re not ready to spend 7 hours in a gym every week 😂—there is another option.

APEX is the only volleyball club I’m currently aware of that offers an In-House League on Friday evenings. (Gahanna)

This could be a great option for players who want to continue developing their skills and playing volleyball over the winter without the full commitment of a traditional club season.
