You Got Mossed.

The 2001 Minnesota Vikings season opened under a cloud, the team still mourning offensive tackle Korey Stringer, who had died of heatstroke during training camp on August 1, 2001. In his honor, the Vikings wore a memorial patch on their jerseys all season.

The team retired his No. 77 at halftime of a game that November.

Randy Moss caught 587 passes for 9,316 yards and 92 touchdowns in purple. He set the rookie record with 17 touchdown catches in 1998, and still ranks second all-time in NFL history in receiving touchdowns.

For the 25th anniversary of that season, Mitchell & Ness honors Stringer and Moss with the Authentic 2001 Moss Vikings throwback.

Months earlier, he’d thrown three career passes when Drew Bledsoe went down in Week 2 of that season. By the Super Bowl, Brady was leading the final drive that set up a game-winning field goal, beating the heavily favored St. Louis Rams, 20-17: the Patriots’ first championship in franchise history.
