Historic Riverton Criterium

Run, Joe, run!

After initiating the breakaway, and staying away with a group of four, Joe Klosinski, a previous winner of the men’s Category 3/4 race riding for Active Environmental Technology, suffered a mechanical on the last lap on the last turn.

Not to be deterred by his bad luck, Joe took off running! And, while maybe not as fast as Usain Bolt, he managed to finish on hold o to 4th place.

Word on the street is he might still be running!

It’s great to get the support of the community, and it’s just as rewarding to give back.

This week I presented a check for $5,000 to the Riverton Fire Company, the all volunteer group of people willing to run in when we run out.

The BikeWorks team, out of Doylestown, PA, always shows up in full force.

I do it because I love it, but I couldn’t do it without her love. My wife, Adrienne, has been by my side for very edition of the HRC and longer.

She understands the passion and drive it takes not only in all my endeavors, like working for the last four years on the Philadelphia Cycling Classic, or my effort to build the Riverton Dog Park, but she has the same determination to be successful in her own right. She has been an educator for Product Club Color Accessories for over twenty years, works hair shows around the country, and is the best partner to work along side with at the salon we own, HUSH SALON PHILADELPHIA. She knows nothing is easy, but we keep pushing to make a life worth living.

Adrienne is my best friend and biggest supporter and I’m lucky and grateful to share our experiences together.

Brian Gomez, racing for Foundation Cycling out of NYC, took the reins from the peloton and led the charge solo for over 15 laps while his teammates controlled the herd from behind.

With a large gap he had plenty of time to enjoy the finishing straight with hands in the air. In a first, his teammates, Marcos Mendez and Jordan Parra rounded out the podium for second and third place in the bunch sprint.
