The red grouper are in thick after Bertha. We boated 12-15 today and definitely lost a few big ones to the wreck and a couple got taxed. I have Monday and Tuesday open. Let's get them before they're gone.

Back on June 15th Cherie and Greg were scheduled to go offshore again this year and it was roughhhh that day. We talked it over and settled for an inshore trip. This kicked off quite a few inshore trips that we returned with a couple keeper flounder and a keeper snapper inshore. Thanks again yall!

If a flounder is 14" on the nose with a pinched tail, he's going back alive. Same with a 16" snapper. If we gotta measure a mingo, it probably ain't going in the box lol. Let's take better care of these fish so we can rely on them next year and the next.

Here's a bunch of inshore trips from the weekend when it was rough as hell offshore. The last trip we got pushed out the pass because of a storm forming just N of the pass and growing on top of our heads so we ran out to some close stuff and picked a keeper snapper on the first drop. The rest of these fish were caught inside the bay. Half-tail was kept busy chasing pigfish and other bycatch while released the undersized regulated species on the other side of the boat 😎

Long time friends David and Frankie whacked em again. 3 foot seas to start the day didn't stop us. Got a beautiful state water scamp to top the box of snapper. They're coming again in the morning tomorrow and the seas should be nice and calm.

Sunrise visit from a manatee in Pensacola/Perdido. She was cruising across the flat throwing a wake and passed thru the deeper part of the dock like she had been there before.

I had the pleasure of taking Capt Mallory out for a quick one yesterday morning. 45 minutes dock to dock. 17 inch flounder right off the bat. We had a few more classic flounder bites but they were being extra tricky that day. We only left the dock with about a dozen baits. With one bait remaining, Mallory made her drop and hooked a keeper sized scamp inshore and our day was made. We had a couple close friends over to enjoy an easy dinner with us tonight.

Opening weekend this snapper season was a success. All solid repeats to get started on snapper Mr Shannon and Tuck had a great trip and super repeat Tyler and crew whacked em day after day in terrible seas. Honestly I can't rememeber how the opening week of the season went exactly because there were some days forecast to be 5-10 kts and some just a bit more and damn it was rough nearly the whole week. One day we got out there and plowed thru a big 1-2 and by the time we started putting fish in the box the bouy was logging 4.9' seas for the median high wave height. Also had some other business to take care of. I asked if I was the only one to come in covered in snapper slime and blood and sign papers and it was confirmed. Many more overdue pics to come but we are getting em and I think i know where the silverware drawer is now.

Today's group got em! Got our snapper early and seemed to get cut off by a shark on the first drop after hooking up but we got our keepers and got out of there. Slow bite for our bycatch targets after we got our snapper but they made solid drops til the end and added a nice lane snapper to top the box. We saw the most defined weedline I've ever seen close to the beach and we had to spend some time working it before getting out to the snapper grounds. Thank you Mike, Mikey and Chris for another great trip!
