Maybe you haven't been given enough space to acknowledge what was lost.

Because we don't always grieve the obvious things.

Sometimes we grieve quietly.

A version of yourself you had to leave behind.
The apology you never received.
The childhood you wish had been different.
The future you imagined that never happened.

And sometimes, we grieve something that other people don't even know we lost.

That's part of what can make grief so complicated.

Because there wasn't a funeral, a goodbye, or even anyone who knew what you lost, you may have never thought to call it grief.

So you told yourself:
"I'm fine."
"It's in the past."
"I should be over it by now."

Moving forward doesn't mean pretending it didn't hurt.

You can move forward and still acknowledge what you lost.
You can be grateful for your life now and still grieve the life you thought you'd have.
You can know something is over and still miss it.
And you can feel okay for months before grief finds its way back to the surface.
That doesn't mean you're going backward.

Maybe there's simply something that still deserves to be felt.

So instead of asking:

Try asking:

Feeling stuck in a pattern you thought you'd already moved past?

Message me now or book a call. Letโ€™s talk about how you can release these stored emotions thru a Calm the Chaos session.

Maybe you have.Maybe you really have made peace with what happened. You understand it differe...

Maybe you have.
Maybe you really have made peace with what happened.
You understand it differently now. You don't want to go back.

And yet when something happens...someone doesn't respond..someone gets angry with you.

You feel rejected.

A boundary gets crossed.
And suddenly, your reaction feels much bigger than the moment itself.

You might wonder:

But instead of judging the reaction, try asking:

These patterns don't mean something is wrong with you.
They may have once helped you cope.

That's something we can explore in a Calm the Chaos session.

You don't need to know what's wrong before you come.
We start with what's coming up and create space to understand what's underneath it.

In-person or virtual. ๐Ÿค

If a pattern you thought you'd moved past keeps showing up...maybe you don't need to try harder to get over it..maybe it's asking to be understood.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Stay tuned for Part 2 of Understanding Your Emotions: Sadness & Grief.

You keep asking, โ€œHow do I stop feeling this?โ€
But what if you asked: โ€œWhat is this feeling trying to tell me?โ€

We often learn to treat uncomfortable emotions like problems:
Stop being angry.
Donโ€™t be so sensitive.
Get over it.
Think positive.
Just let it go.

So we push the feeling away and keep moving.
But emotions can carry information.

Anger can bring our attention to a boundary that has been crossed.
Guilt can show up when weโ€™re doing something unfamiliar like choosing ourselves or saying no.
Sadness can tell us that something mattered.
Fear can point toward uncertainty, vulnerability, or something that feels threatening.
And resentment can sometimes show us where weโ€™ve been giving more than we actually have to give.

That doesnโ€™t mean every emotion is telling you the truth.
And it doesnโ€™t mean you have to act on every feeling.

It means you can become curious about whatโ€™s happening instead of immediately trying to make it disappear.

So the next time an emotion keeps coming back, try asking:
What happened right before I felt this?
What am I feeling underneath the first emotion?
What might I need right now?

Sometimes the first step isnโ€™t getting rid of the feeling.
Itโ€™s finally giving yourself enough space to understand it.

Follow along as I do the series: Understanding Your Emotions

And if youโ€™re realizing there may be more underneath what youโ€™ve been feeling lately, thatโ€™s something we can explore together in a Calm the Chaos session.

Sometimes, ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป we notice because it's loud.

But underneath it, there may be something else:

You felt dismissed...hurt.
A boundary was crossed.
You felt unheard..powerless.
You kept giving when you were already running on empty.

Or maybe you've been swallowing smaller frustrations for so long that one more thing finally pushed you over the edge.

That doesn't mean every angry reaction has a hidden explanation.

But instead of only asking:
"How do I calm down?"

It can be worth asking:

Sometimes anger is the first signal that something needs our attention and learning to listen doesn't mean acting on the anger.

It means becoming curious about what it's trying to show you.
Because when we only try to get rid of the emotion, we can miss the information underneath it.

Why does your brain keep replaying the same thought even when you KNOW it's not helpful?

It starts with one thought.

"Did I handle that conversation okay?"
"Wait. Maybe I shouldn't have said that.โ€
"What if they're upset with me?"

You replay the conversation.
You remember their face.
Their tone.
What you said.
What they said.

You tell yourself: "Stop thinking about it." but it is exactly whatโ€™s happening.

Same thought.
Same question.
Same what-if.

So why does your brain do this?

Because sometimes your brain believes:
If I can just figure this out...
I can prevent it from happening again.

In other words, itโ€™s trying to protect you.

And so it keeps searching.
For certainty.
For reassurance.
For an answer that finally makes you feel safe.

Sometimes you can understand what you're thinking and still not understand why your mind keeps taking you back there.

If your mind has been going in circles lately, you can book a Calm the Chaos session with me. ๐Ÿค You don't need to arrive knowing what's wrong or what you need to work on. We simply start with what's coming up for you.

Message now to book a call.

Adding this one to my little collection of reminders. This one's going in the notebook. ๐Ÿ’›

Comments like these always make me smile.

Not because they're compliments but because they remind me thatโ€ฆ

even one person feeling a little more calm, a little more seen, and a little more hopeful makes this work worth it.

Thank you for sharing your heart.
