Carbs vs Fat! We've been taught that fat is the enemy when it comes to cholesterol and weight gain. And yes, there is such a thing as BAD FAT! However, carbs are not as innocent as they appear. Most carbohydrate foods are converted into sugar that our body (LIVER) turns into triglycerides!! Therefore, raising your LDL!

My diet has transformed from carb intake that spikes insulin and contributes to sticky LDL cholesterol to Healthy FATS! The outcome, better cholesterol, better weight management, better control over my sugar gremlin (AKA hunger and cravings)!

We put so much pressure on ourselves to eat healthy and workout regularly. The problem is, we are exhausted, overwhelmed, and have a ton of other things on our plate.

When we add pressure, we add stress! When we add stress, we add inflammation, slow our metabolism, & feel like 💩! We have enough stress in our lives and the last thing we need is to add more.

It’s okay to skip a workout… or two or three. Whether your skipping that workout to rest & recharge or to simply get all the ish done that needs to get done… it’s okay! You aren’t failing. You’re recognizing that you’re human, and sometimes you aren’t going to get it all done.

When we honor ourselves and recognize how we feel, we actually do more for ourselves in those mements then trying to push through when we simply don’t have the energy.

Ever hear the words meal prep and think who has the time? Making dinner after work is also exhausting. My easiest out for meal prepping is to cook all my veggies on the weekend or a free evening after work (like Monday or Tuesday).

Making sides is half the battle. Once they are done, all I have to do is decide what protein I’m having throughout the week. Freezer stays full of steak, chicken, & fish, so I just pull a couple options out every other day.

Now making dinner only takes me 10-15 minutes to cook my protein and easily warm up my side of choice.

The bonus- I can snack on these yummy veggies anytime, use as a side with eggs, or add to my lunch.

Two opportunities to practice yoga on Friday!

6:30am at Choccolocco Park. 30 min practice under the pavilion on the walking path. The sunrises have been beautiful and this is a perfect opportunity to move your body in the morning.

5:00pm Studio31 - A Pilates Studio! Destress after the work week and kick off your wkd with movement! You’ll be ready to go all wkd long.

I never thought I could be eating the foods I’m eating, enjoying a cocktail, not worrying about cardio…. And ACTUALLY LOSE WEIGHT!

About 8 months ago I changed my diet and dropped 5 lbs in less than 2 wks! I had no plan, no goal and no real understanding as to what was actually happening.

I dove deeper and now know exactly why it works… the changes I made allowed me to become FAT-ADAPTED! The result…. I don’t have to stress out and worry about working out. I don’t have to worry about cravings or counting calories. Now I love eating (more than ever) and can enjoy food without guilt!

Fat-adapted simply means my body has learned to burn fat as fuel first!

Last year I had some things show up in my bloodwork that made me change the way I eat. In addition, working healthcare wasn’t always easy and I needed to make a change. I sat with it for a while debating what to do- next thing I know, I was researching schools to become a health coach!

After changing my diet and seeing results quickly, I knew Primal Health Institute was for me. Their philosophy on eating and movement was exactly what I was doing. Before I knew it I was enrolled and beginning my next chapter.

I’ve now graduated and am excited to help others take the steps they need to make changes to improve their health & wellness.

My mission is to help others take the next steps and find balance to living a healthier lifestyle. Diet and exercise shouldn’t feel like a second job, so whether you’re looking to lose weight, improve your labs, or simply feel better, I’m here to help!

*** NEW SCHEDULE*** STARTING SUNDAY ***

It has not been easy to adjust my schedule, mostly because I don’t want to change things on you all.

At this time, Monday and Thursday are going away. BUT I HEARD YOU- and I’m adding SUNDAYS & FRIDAYS!

For now there are a few select Sundays. If they go well, they will either be every other OR every Sunday as my schedule allows.

I’m still figuring out when I can squeeze in gentle yoga.

I’m grateful for all of you and appreciate your support and patience during this time.
