Fantasia” is a 15hh, registered Friesian sport horse mare, foaled on 06/26/2022. Sired by a purebred Friesian stallion, out of a grulla paint, APHA mare. Here is a horse that was created to have brains, beauty, athleticism, and a good demeanor. From her regal appearance to her fun and loving personality, Fantasia is a true dream horse, who has been brought along slowly and correctly, with a bright future ahead of her! This is one that is going to be hard to part with, but she is ready for her forever partner, and has tons to offer! Her name resembles the half moon marking on her forehead, which is unique and way too cute!
Fantasia is a super easy horse to have around. She is in your pocket, whinnies when she sees you, and will always meet you in the pasture or at the gate. She is not marish, and hides her heats well. She is a babysitter in the pasture, gets along very well with others, causes no drama and is independent. She goes out with mares and geldings. She is an easy keeper with no maintenance, and never asks for anything. Fantasia can be stalled or live out. She has no stall vices. She is good for the vet and the farrier, can wear shoes, but has been barefoot the whole time she’s been with me. She has great feet and doesn’t get ouchy trail riding. Fantasia stands on the cross ties to be groomed, tacked, bathed, and loves attention. She is a sweet girl and will beg for lovins. She loads and trailers like a gem, and ties to the trailer patiently. She does prefer to wear a fly sheet when pastured in the summer, but other than that, she doesn’t require anything.
Fantasia has been with me for quite some time now. My focus has been on bringing her along slowly, correctly and filling her with confidence. She has not been pushed, and most of my time in the saddle with her so far has been out adventuring on the trails. She is a splendid trail mount, and will ride out alone or in groups. She will lead, or follow, and is a very relaxing ride. One thing I love about her is that she does not get upset if horses are up her butt on the trails like most mares. She has never even put her ears back. Fantasia crosses bridges, logs, rocks, water, and likes to swim in the lake. She is brave and willing, not spooky, and doesn’t mind traffic, dogs, bikes, deer, etc. She will happily move out on the trails when asked, then drop right back down to a nice walk. She is the same horse off property every time.
I have just recently started introducing Fantasia to ring work. She is learning what leg means, and other basics such as collection, back up, etc. Since Friesians are known to develop slower, I have not pushed her, and I have not drilled her in circles. So while she is green in the arena, she has a good start and she is very intelligent. She has uphill, floaty gaits, and she is naturally balanced. My introduction to collection has been slow, and correct. She does not currently ride fully collected, and if you watch the video, you’ll see praise for when she gives me correct collection and that is where I am at with her collection training right now. I would consider her more of a push style ride in the arena. I do carry a crop when I am working on forward movement and getting her hind end under her. When I am just playing around with cues at the walk/jog, I don’t carry a crop. I have put a handful of “canters” on her so far and she is very comfortable. Fantasia lunges and round pens as well. She has been lunged over fences and cross country jumps for fun, and she is very scopey. In the pics and video you’ll see two clips of her jumping under saddle, that was the first and only time that I have jumped her under saddle so far, I wanted to see what she would do, and she did fabulous. This girl has tons of potential in many different areas. She is going to make someone very happy.
My time with Fantasia has been great. She is a happy horse that knows how to put a smile on your face. I taught her to lay down on command, and she is currently learning to step over sideways to the mounting block. She learns tricks SO fast!! I don’t think that I will ever find another horse with her looks, and brain. With that being said, she would be a wonderful future broodmare prospect as well.
Fantasia is sired by “Ulco E”, a Friesian stallion. He is known for being noble, having great hair genetics and a great mover. “Ulco E” is sired by “Tsjalle 454”, another well known stallion who made history as the youngest ever Friesian Studbook stallion to receive the prestigious Preferent status for the quality of his offspring. He passes down a kind temperament, uphill conformation and elastic movement. On her mother’s side, a little further back in the lines you will see some well known names such as “Genuine Doc”, who is an AQHA world champion. Sired by “Doc Bar”, a legendary stallion in the AQHA world. Fantasia is bred for success.
