Pick your hard and have patience. Results take time. My fitness journey was not one giant overhaul at once, it was a lot of little changes over time.

By taking things on in little bits at a time, I was able to create better habits not just strive towards a goal. It was easier to implement smaller changes than large ones or overwhelm myself with a ton of changes at once. This is why people fail.

Myth: Cardio is the best way to lose weight.
Truth: Nutrition creates the calorie deficit, and strength training helps preserve muscle while you lose fat.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s great to get movement in. Get in extra steps where you can. But you don’t have to spend an hour on a cardio machine to lose weight

Strength training tip: Leave 1–2 Reps in the Tank

You don’t have to train until failure each time,

Stopping with 1–2 good reps left helps you:

* Practice great form.
* Recover better.
* Stay consistent.

Habit tip: The “shrink it and anchor it” method.

Most people try to hit the ground running and end up burning out. By shrinking your habit into a doable action and anchoring it to something you already have in place helps build a new habit.

Prep ingredients not meals. If you don’t have the time to prep meals, taking the time to chop up veggies, wash fruits, and cook rice makes it easier to grab out of the fridge. Prep isn’t always meals, it’s just about making your meal choices easier

Behind the scenes: I’ve been trying to slow down and be more present lately. Life is made up of all these little moments we so easily overlook, yet they often hold so much more than we give them credit for.

Time with friends has been incredibly healing. It hasn’t taken the grief away, but it has made it feel less stark. Less terrifying. It’s reminded me that none of us are meant to carry life’s hardest moments alone.

We’re all in this together.

Myth VS Truth ☝🏼

Myth: Healthy eating has to be all or nothing.
Truth: The meals you eat consistently matter far more than the occasional indulgence.

I like to live by the 70/30 rule. I eat mindfully 70% of the time and I enjoy the other 30%. Eating is meant to be enjoyed and not everything needs to be taken into account.

I was craving a burger so I had one but I swapped out the fries for veggies. I stick to lean proteins and veggies most of the time so I can enjoy what I want the rest.

I could shout this from the rooftops… but they beat me to it.🙃

Lifting heavy doesn’t make you bulky. In fact, the “toned” or “lean” look so many women are chasing comes because you’ve built muscle. Those words are often used because they feel more appealing than saying “build muscle,” but physiologically, they’re describing the same thing.

Muscle creates shape. Nutrition helps reveal it.
So if your goal is to look lean, defined, or toned, don’t be afraid to challenge yourself with heavier weights. Building muscle is the goal, not something to fear.
