Stretching is important because it helps maintain and improve flexibility and joint range of motion. It helps everyday movement and strength training feel smoother and less restricted.
Done regularly it can also help reduce muscle tightness and improve your tolerance to longer muscle positions. It doesn’t necessarily stop injuries from occurring or keep you from being sore post-workout. So look at it as a piece of a puzzle alongside strength training, recovery, sleep, and good movement habits.
For training:
* Dynamic stretching is usually best before a workout because it prepares the body to move.
* Static stretching is generally better after training or separately, especially when your goal is improving flexibility.

So many people believe happiness is when they reach their goals. Get what they’ve been chasing. It’s in the journey. Studies tell us we often overestimate how happy reaching the goal will make us, and underestimate how much of our life is actually lived on the way there. Don’t postpone happiness until you arrive. It’s in the becoming.

Meal prep is a great way to set yourself up to win for the week. You have healthy meals ready to go and there’s no decision fatigue.
Don’t like eating the exact same meal repeatedly? Just prep veggies. Prep sweet potatoes or rice. Have easy proteins on hand you can cook or add to meals.

Motivation is fleeting but discipline goes deeper. It’s a promise you make to yourself. Keeping it doesn’t look like being perfect. It looks like showing up for yourself in what capacity you can.

Why time under tension matters 💪
Time under tension is just how long a muscle stays working during a set.
Slowing down the lowering phase, controlling the rep, and avoiding momentum can increase that tension and help you get more out of each exercise.
It can also improve:
• muscle control
• technique
• mind-muscle connection
• hypertrophy stimulus
Don’t rush through your reps, be intentional. Focus on the mind muscle connection and slow down.
And get off your phone.
