Learning without borders.

This month, GUSI partnered with the University of Guyana to deliver a fully virtual POCUS Essentials course to 40 students, split across two cohorts and covering musculoskeletal (MSK) and OB point-of-care ultrasound.

Cohort 1 kicked things off earlier in the week, and Cohort 2 wrapped up their final session on August 24 — closing out a training experience designed to reach learners wherever they are.

A special thank you to Dr. Jeffrey Carness and Dr. Odette Zero, who led both cohorts through the material and helped make this such a valuable learning experience.

Proof that hands-on ultrasound education can happen anywhere — even virtually. We look forward to continuing our mission of empowering clinicians through high-quality POCUS education, wherever they're learning from.

It's always a great experience bringing hands-on POCUS training directly to clinicians at their own conference.

Last weekend, GUSI led a 4-hour POCUS Essentials workshop at the CAFP POP 2026 Family Medicine POP! / Annual Meeting, held at Paradise Point Resort in San Diego, California.

Fifty family medicine clinicians joined us for hands-on scanning practice, working through real clinical scenarios and building point-of-care ultrasound skills they can bring straight back to their practices.

A special thank you to our instructor team, who guided everyone through such a valuable learning experience: Mena Ramos, Brendan Kidder, Deepika Ram, Eva Tovar Hirashima, Jennifer Seymour, Jessie Lucey, Michael Avila, Orly Bell, and Richard Hernandez.

We're also grateful to the California Academy of Family Physicians for hosting us and giving us the opportunity to connect with so many dedicated clinicians.

Last weekend, GUSI supported a one-day POCUS Essentials course for the ED providers at Grande Ronde Hospital in La Grande, Oregon.

It was a special-request session built around real ED needs:

- FAST exam
- Abdominal ultrasound & gallbladder assessments
- Ultrasound-guided procedures
- Ocular POCUS
- Documentation & coding guidance for revenue capture

Another successful OB POCUS workshop in the books! 👶🩺

We recently wrapped up an incredible in-person OB POCUS Workshop at Lariox Skills Academy, where clinicians strengthened their skills in performing focused obstetric ultrasound based on the six parameters outlined in the national guidelines.

During this hands-on training, participants practiced assessing:
• Fetal presentation
• Fetal number
• Placental location
• Fetal heart rate (FHR)
• Amniotic fluid adequacy
• Fetal biometry across the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters

Through expert guidance and real-time scanning, attendees gained practical experience that they can confidently bring into everyday clinical practice.
