We don’t always become someone new by leaving someone old behind.

Sometimes, the parts of us we thought belonged to another chapter are still quietly shaping the way we move through this one.

The skills we learned.
The wisdom we gained.
The experiences that changed how we see things.

We can let go of what no longer fits without deciding that who we were was a mistake.

Maybe our lives were never meant to be told in such clean lines.

Maybe every chapter leaves something with us.

Nothing we genuinely become is wasted.

We carry pieces of our past into places we never imagined they would belong.

The skills.
The lessons.
The experiences that shaped us.

This week’s Finding Your Way essay, Nothing We Become Is Wasted, explores something I’ve been thinking about lately: how the different chapters of our lives continue to shape who we are and what we bring with us.

We become so many versions of ourselves throughout a lifetime.

I spent almost 20 years in one career, and I’m still carrying pieces of that chapter with me today.

What did an earlier version of you teach you that still lives in you now?

It’s kind of amazing to think about what stays with us. šŸ¤

For months, I walked past the boxes still sitting around our house and quietly carried them with me.

When I finally asked for help, something surprised me: they got taken care of, just not in the way I had imagined.

It made me wonder how much of the weight I’d been carrying came from my own ideas about how it all needed to happen.

Maybe there’s more than one way to let something go.

šŸ” Under Contract in Seekonk!

Can you imagine spending the rest of your summer out here?

The pool. The deck. The space. The .86-acre backyard.

Honestly, this might have been my favorite part of 615 Taunton Avenue. šŸ˜‚

Our sellers received multiple offers and are officially under contract. We’re looking forward to guiding them through the next steps toward closing.

The way we carry things can become a habit.

We hold on tightly.
We take everything on ourselves.
We keep following the same path, even when it feels heavy.

Maybe there’s a little more room than we realized to do things differently.

What would feel a little lighter today?

An unfinished thing can carry everything we’ve attached to how it’s supposed to unfold.

Who should do it.
What ā€œdoneā€ should look like.
How it should happen.

And all of those expectations can add weight.

What might feel lighter if you loosened your grip a little?

An unfinished thing can take up more space than we realize.

This essay is a reflection on asking for help, loosening control, and discovering that resolution can take a different shape than we imagined.

What are you carrying that might become lighter if you loosened your grip?

A reflection on unfinished things, asking for help, and learning to release the pressure to do everything ourselves. Discover how loosening your grip on ā€œhow it should beā€ can create more space, ease, and freedom.

Sometimes the weight of an unfinished thing comes from the picture we’ve created of how it’s supposed to unfold.

Who should do it.
How it should happen.
What ā€œdoneā€ should look like.

This week, I’m curious:

What might feel lighter if you made a little room for another possibility?

Just some food for thought. šŸ¤
