🚨 Jets rookie WR Omar Cooper Jr. has reportedly been passed by Isaiah Williams for the WR3 spot, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini. 🏈👀
Cooper has still put together a solid training camp, catching 2 passes for 31 yards in the preseason opener before following that performance with another strong practice this week.
The rookie has also been putting in extra work after practice, staying on the field with Williams and catching an additional 100-200 passes each on the Jugs machine.
The Jets’ apparent WR depth chart currently looks like:
🔶 WR1: Garrett Wilson
🔶 WR2: Adonai Mitchell
🔶 WR3: Isaiah Williams
🔶 WR4: Omar Cooper Jr.
Williams originally entered camp primarily as a return specialist but has continued to impress and earn a bigger role in the offense.
Cooper being behind Williams doesn’t necessarily mean the first-round rookie is struggling, but it’s definitely a development worth watching as the preseason continues. 👀🔥🏈
