This week was 25th anniversary of Pharoahe Monch and his debut album "Internal Affairs"...Here's my take on it and how it aged --------> ➡️On internal Affairs 1. *Intro* - Coulda Done without 2. *Behind Closed Doors* - second most memorable song after Simon Says mostly bacause of the hook and beat. 3. Queens - ok for a neighborhood anthem but if you're not from NYC or Queens your not gonna care 4. R**e - One of the better braggadocio cuts about who's the better rapper. Coulda done without the title. 5. Simon Says - It was the lead single, still holds up. Beat helps A LOT but a dope cut 6. Official - pointless coulda done without it on the album 7. Hell - it's alright, sounds like some weird s**t Eminem would spit. Gets a semi pass just because Canibus shows up 8. No Mercy - Shoulda been an MOP track 9. Right Here - just trying to gather the locals again with shout outs and borough reppin. 10. The Next S**t - by now I'm way tired of listening to the album already. He is flexing flows on this tho. Busta really had him amped. One of the cooler cuts. Bussa Buss doing what he does defitley helps. 11. The Ass - cool chick song, every album needs one 12. The light - cool Rootsish type instrumental vibe. If I remember it correctly this was one of 3 singles pushed. It's a cool vibe. 13. God Send - not a memorable cut. Album Filler However, there are a couple bars of truth serum when the song is winding down 14. The Truth - to me this is what God send shoulda been or was trying to be. Pharoahe killed it, Common killed it, so did Kweli. Shoulda been closer to the top of the Album before all the filler 15. Simon says remix - dope. Up there with The Scenerio Remix IMO--------- This album coulda been AT LEAST 5 tracks lighter to make it tighter. ✨️
