for Khaled Jarrar’s INFILTRATORS (2012, 70 min) is a visceral road movie that chronicles the daily travails of Palestinians of all backgrounds as they seek routes through, under, around, and over a bewildering matrix of barriers and border walls in the highly militarized West Bank. Alternating between cigarette breaks, detours, waiting, and moving, INFILTRATORS depicts the cunning, unnerving, and constant struggle to defy captivity and occupation.

Join Diverse Filmmakers Alliance and Third World Newsreel for FREE FILM SCREENINGS centering Palestine. This monthly series uplifts the voices of Palestinians to make connections around decolonial struggles experienced by the diverse communities of New York City. Following the screenings, we will thread through a chorus of perspectives that have been affected and are continuing the struggle against colonization and erasure, creating a space for the audience to contextualize the ongoing conflicts happening abroad and at home. Donations raised will go to Gazan journalists and Palestinian filmmakers.

Introduction to the End of an Argument [excerpt]
Elia Suleiman & Jayce Salloum, 1990, Color, 45 minutes
Replicating the tone of a dizzying and oversaturated news cycle, the filmmakers deconstruct how dominant narratives influence and hold power. Through archival footage and reenactments, the film shows how cultural representation dehumanizes a people through a perpetually colonial gaze, and critiques the pervasive racism in the media's portrayal of Arabs. Created in the '90s, reflecting the politics of the '80s, the film is as relevant as ever in these times.

Forbidden to Wander
Susan Youssef, 2003, Color, 35 minutes
FORBIDDEN TO WANDER is a captivating tale of love amidst adversity, chronicling a filmmaker's journey through the occupied territories of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The film offers a rare and intimate perspective on Palestinian lives, revealing aspirations and desires that both transcend and are shaped by the realities of their existence.
