Diamonds Basketball Camp featured plenty of fun and games, but also plenty of teaching.

We finished our 2026 Diamonds Camp by awarding our inaugural Camper of the Week awards.

Originally planned to be given to a player in each of our 4 divisions, after seeing all of the talent during the week, we pivoted to giving an award for each individual grade, 2nd thru 8th.

The criteria was based on multiple factors - top performance, maximum effort, hard work, positive attitude, and great sportsmanship - displayed throughout the week.

Our Camp Coaches deliberated and debated well into Thursday’s final session before a consensus was reached on 7 great choices.

Our 5v5 competitions were filled with intensity all week at Diamonds Camp, capped off by our championship game in the WNBA division coming down to a game tying 3-pointer made just AFTER the buzzer sounded. See the footage for yourself of the exciting finish.

Diamonds Camp 2026 is a wrap! And what a week it was.

Day 4 was Title Thursday, as we held our 5v5 semifinals and finals, crowning championship teams in our High School, NCAA, and WNBA divisions.

Then we held our first annual Camp Coaches vs Players game … and thankfully all of our Coaches survived. 😊

We concluded the day and the week with our camp awards ceremony, presenting trophies and custom t-shirts to recognize all of our individual and team champions from throughout the week.

Everyone who joined us this week was a winner. These girls worked so hard and learned so much basketball from some of the best coaches and players on Staten Island. They will all be 100% ready to rock for tryout season next month.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this week at camp to close out Year 37 of S.I. Diamonds Basketball. Our 38th season starts with tryouts on September 12th and 13th. See you next season! 💎 💎 💎

Day 3 of Diamonds Camp may have been our busiest day yet.

It was non-stop basketball from the morning warmup through our 5v5 semifinals in the afternoon. In between, the girls sharpened their skills with more stations work and we crowned winners in our skills competitions.

Relive some of today’s action heading into Title Thursday, as we close out camp crowning our team competition champions and hand out our individual awards.

We were honored to have Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella stop by Diamonds Camp on Tuesday.

BP Fossella has been a champion for youth sports on the island for decades. And since 1989, as a non-profit organization, the Diamonds have been at the forefront of girls basketball in our community.
