Emma. A beautiful girl who was severely abused by someone using a baseball bat. Luckily she was saved and is being looked after by many wonderful people.

Part Three: Her face is beautiful and I loved the opportunity to look into her distinctive Emma eye once again. Susan says she will sometimes go out in the hall and play with the neighbor's cat. I wish I had gotten to see her more, and a picture was out of the question, but I was so happy to see her so loved, so safe and so free to be herself!

Part Two: She was plainly not in the mood for a visitor. She is clearly a very independent little girl, probably one of the keys to her remarkable survival and recovery. Susan totally respects her wishes. She has so much love for Emma. She came out into the hallway for a short time and sat on her flat scratching post.
Part One: I have just returned from my visit with Emma and Susan. I have returned empty handed in terms of any photographs, but Emma looks wonderful. She looks so incredibly healthy and even a little plump (Susan reports that she loves dry food.) She disappeared into Susan's bedroom pretty quickly after I arrived.
I am going for a visit with our little Emma on Monday. I can't wait!

I had the pleasure of joining Tara for a visit to Emma's new home. It is perfect for her- quiet, sunny, calm and safe. Susan, who adopted her, is also perfect. She loves Emma so much, but also has the wisdom to let her be. She respects what Emma has been through, and will give her all the time that she needs to grow into being her- both a regular cat and a special, special girl.
Just got word that Emma has settled into her new digs nicely. She got there friday, met some new people, poked around on saturday, and by today is walking around comfortably, announcing preferences and generally being her lovable self. Seems like a good fit :-) -T
New update: The saga continues. Emma's appetite decreased ramatically after her surgeries, so Dr Brown decided to keep her there for a few more days. I have no idea when she'll be released, but since she apparently ate a hearty breakfast, I assume it will be very soon. -Tara
Ok all, here's Emma's surgery update: She came through her spay and final tooth extraction surgery like a trooper. Since her jaw wasn't aligned properly after it was broken, her teeth on that side of her jaw were peircing her palate. Those teeth have been extracted, and she should be a lot more comfortable now. Her new human is all set to pick her up sometime tomorrow. Big day for our little muffin maker :-) -Tara
UPDATE: Emma will FINALLY be getting spayed and her last dental on Monday (OMG don't get me started). She has a strong adoption candidate who will hopefully be taking her home after her surgery. I will keep the group posted. -Tara
