Today was our first Field Trip Friday of the summer, and our campers set out to explore three amazing locations!
Team 1 headed to the movies to catch Minions & Monsters. Team 2 experienced the immersive exhibits at Mercer Labs, discovering the intersection of art and technology. Team 3 visited the Sloomoo Institute for a gooey, slime-filled adventure.
All of our campers had a fantastic time today. We are already looking forward to kicking off week two of Summer Discovery on Monday!

You typically don't hear "book club" and summer camp" in the same sentence. But in addition to squash, swimming, field trips, and all the other "traditional fun" activities associated with a summer camp, a new initiative we have at Summer Discovery this year is "Book Club" Aimed at increasing participants' reading and writing levels through interactive activities such as comprehension questions, class discussions, and writing prompts, book club is designed to limit frequent learning gaps that occur during the summer months.
This, along with fun STEM-related activities, ensures that campers keep their minds sharp and are one step ahead once the new school year approaches.
And seeing smiles this wide during just day one of book club, tells us that we've found that perfect balance of fun and education all in one.

This past weekend, our graduating high school seniors headed up to the Poconos for StreetSquash's annual senior trip! They enjoyed time at the lake, hit up a water park, and bonded at their Airbnb while watching the Knicks and catching up on movies. It was the perfect opportunity for these students to unwind, have fun, and celebrate before they embark on the next chapter of their lives.
Congratulations once again to the Class of 2026! 🎓✨

100% of the graduating Class of 2026 is officially committed to a college or university.
A celebratory dinner honoring these seniors on Tuesday night brought together families and staff for a profoundly moving evening. Caregivers spoke proudly of their children’s immense growth, staff reflected on the participants' years of relentless dedication, and StreetSquashers shared heartfelt thank-yous with the parents who supported them along the way. The night served as a beautiful tribute to years of hard work, sending these remarkable students off into their next chapters with the full backing of their community.

The program year might be over, but our students aren't slowing down! Squash practice continues as they prepare for the upcoming SEA Individual Nationals this weekend.
During Saturday's practice, the team at Spear Physical Therapy generously provided free assessments for our participants, which we paired with fitness and skill testing to ensure everyone is in peak condition.
A huge thank you to Spear Physical Therapy for their continued commitment to the health, wellness, and success of our StreetSquashers!

Our 2025–2026 school year programming culminated on Friday as we gathered with our participants and their families for our end of year awards ceremony. We witnessed firsthand the incredible growth of these student-athletes, who poured their hearts into achieving excellence both in the classroom and on the court. It was a privilege to celebrate the hard work, effort, and heart they put in all year long.

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, StreetSquash partnered with Harlem Educational Activities Fund (HEAF) and Boys & Girls Club of America for our second annual Wellness Field Day in Harlem. 💚
More than 100 young people, families, and community members joined us for a day of movement, mindfulness, and fun, with activities including squash, nutrition workshops, massages, face painting, and more.
At StreetSquash, supporting our students means supporting the whole person. Creating space for rest, connection, joy, and self-care is just as important as what happens in the classroom and on the court.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the day special!
