It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and partner Thom Kajaba. As founding partner of TODA's Hamburg Office, Thom dedicated his life to enabling his kind and loving spirit towards the improvement of life. Thom's daily cause was to look inside of himself to gain a transcendent strength that would fuel his creativity towards doing great work. His loving nature drew many to join in his efforts to create ideas that inspire and his influences will be long-lasting to all of those who had the privilege to know him. Our love and prayers go out to his family and to all those who loved him.
The memory of his enduring optimism and love for the potential each life holds can be best expressed in the proclamation Thom would make each time he bid us farewell:
"Gaily forward!
All the way
to the top."
Gaily forward Thom, Gaily forward forever.

TODA’s inspirational promotion cards have arrived. "Be not afraid” is the most repeated advice within the most popular book of all time (The Bible). Life will come with unknowns and obstacles that can seem impossible. But with a belief in our ability to be more than we are, as individuals, and as a society, we can find an emerging light in the dark. As you begin your new year and the second decade of the 21st century, look at all that can be and – be not afraid.
DM us with your address if you want a Be Not Afraid Card mailed to you!

TODA Think it. Say it. Do it.
This year brings a spirit of renewal to each of us with the hope of bringing our best concepts to life. At times, the creative process can seem more like a mysterious phenomenon than a methodical process that can be effectively put into action. In 2019, you can realize your best ideas with a simple mantra. Crystalize your thoughts, speak it out loud to others, follow through with each step needed to complete it. Think it, say it, do it!

TODA wins AIGA 50 Books | 50 Covers competition! After receiving more than 800 entries, the jury of AIGA and Design Observer 50 Books | 50 Covers chose DERT’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland cover design as one of the winners in their annual competition. The classic children’s story was given a unique look with a modernized cover concept designed by Lise Bye Kjeldsen, a graphic designer from Copenhagen, Denmark. Creative Director, Marcos Chavez has been working with students like Lise to create DERT's range of redesigned classics that are created by graphic design students and raise money for literacy charity.
We are beyond happy and proud of the recognition from AIGA and Design Observer and their competition, which exemplifies the best current work in book and book cover design. All the winning books and covers, which are exemplars of the craft and effect of good design, will become part of the AIGA collection at the Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Columbia University’s Butler Library and at the Robert Haas Arts Library at Yale University.
