The more I learn about human movement I realize we shouldn't fight our compensations. We can lean into them, see them and through that we have to power to bounce back into strength.

Just like in the cat cow pose, the power is in the rounding to create the space in the thoracic spine with an exhale and on your inhale you can look up to the sky, arch your back and find space and openness simply because you looked into and recognized your deficit. With that you created the power to go to the other side and feel your strength.

Side to side hops. A great warmup or cardio move that gets your body moving with good impact. Choose your intensity and speed and you can add a step rather than a hop if it’s a better choice for you. Enjoy! Mamas and soon to be moms if you want to get and stay strong for you and your baby, contact me to learn more about how I can help! Mama to mama!

New mamas, what do you feel when you look at yourself in the mirror? Do you recognize yourself? Are you wondering what happened to your body and wishing to bounce back? It took us 9 months to carry that baby so it will take at least that to heal. Will you ever get your body back or will you embrace your new body with all its changes? I’m here to tell you that no matter where you are in the motherhood journey, start with confidence and self love. From there you can begin the healing process. And ignore all those “perfect” new mom bodies because we all have flaws and we’re all human. If you’re not sure where to start on your journey to healing, health, wellness, improved mindset and embracing the newer body and getting it as strong as possible, I’m here to help you. Contact me to learn more about my postnatal fitness coaching programs. If you’re currently pregnant please connect as you can get a head start in preparing for postpartum.

Low impact cardio is a great move for moms. Try this knee to hand movement which requires balance, extension, flexion and core strength. Inhale as legs are arms are extended and Exhale when the hands and knee connect. Enjoy!

📣🤰🏻🙋🏻‍♀️Strong Mamas! What do you do when you have 10 minutes for yourself? As a mom it’s not easy to take time for yourself, generally our days are filled with taking care of baby, clothes, diapers, food, breast-feeding or pumping, getting baby to nap and sleep and everything else. As your baby gets older and if you have help you may have more time for yourself. If you can find even 5 or 10 minutes throughout the day, while your baby naps or if hubby, partner, grandparents or helper can pitch in, take that time for yourself. It could be to take a walk, to close your eyes, to breathe deeply, to exercise or move in someway that you enjoy, or anything that you need to re-energize and calm you so you have more energy and confidence to deal with the uncertainties and excitement of a day with baby.

Feeling confident and strong postpartum isn’t an easy feat but know that no matter how long it takes to love your body again, you are a powerful woman! Actually a superhuman who grew a new life in her belly and gave birth to a baby!Wowza! Even as a trainer I’ve felt up and down about my body postpartum but lifting my baby and playing with him as he gets heavier, having the energy and endurance for his activities, and moving without pain are all really important to me. What’s important to you postpartum? And what successes have you felt?
