I've been doing some visual research for a project in Flint, MI and I ran across something that I think other folks might dig:
Riverbank Park.
"Designed in the mid-1970s by Lawrence Halprin & Associates." As this article states parts of it has been demolished & I guess there's some sort of new rejuvenation plan underway. Definitely a bummer.
It was more than just cool looking design-y civic boondoggle - "its pools, canals, and water features [were] designed to aid in flood-control measures in compliance with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers."
I'm also going to post a link to a twitter account where someone posted the original design brochure with section & perspective drawings.
For fans of American modernist architecture & brutalism.

Another exhibit installation/opening (it's been a busy spring) with Peter Hyde. This was for Rotary International's exposition booth in Hamburg Germany. It's great when you get to work for clients that do so much good in the world.
