Introducing - our very first Player of the week - Eli Schmidt ran the midfield while playing a man down in team Juventus’ most recent game at SA Futbol Sevens.

Eli hails from Guatemala where he played at BVSA soccer academy in his youth. After academy, he moved on to Santo Tomas IFC league 2 in Guatemala, a professional division team.

Before boss the midfield in the SA Futbol 7s, Eli played 4 years at Cedarville University, OH.

He now coaches at Juventus soccer academy, and plays for Alamo City’s UPSL team. Not to mention returning from an ACL injury just recently. Be on the lookout for the next POTW from our league here in SA and be sure to watch out for Eli on the field.
