Need some advice because this situation with our neighbour is getting a bit ridiculous, and we honestly don’t know what to do next.

A few months ago, we agreed with our neighbour to replace the old boundary fence because it was falling apart and leaning badly. We had several conversations about sharing the cost, and everything seemed fine while the new fence was being installed.

Now that it’s finished, he’s suddenly saying he never officially agreed to pay anything and refuses to contribute.

What makes things even more frustrating is that he has now attached a large awning directly to the new fence without asking us. As you can see in the photo, it’s been drilled into several sections, and we’re already noticing stress, cracking, and movement in parts of the fence.

Since the fence sits right on the boundary, we’re not sure where we stand. We paid for the replacement expecting the cost to be shared, and now it feels like we’re also being left to deal with damage caused by something attached to it.

We’ve kept photos, messages, and records of our conversations, just in case we need them later. We really don’t want this to turn into a huge neighbour dispute, but we’re getting to the point where we need to understand our options.

For anyone who has dealt with something similar:

Can a verbal agreement to split the fence cost still be enforced?
Can a neighbour attach something this substantial to a shared boundary fence without permission?
If the fence is damaged as a result, who would normally be responsible for the repairs?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through a similar fencing or property-line dispute. What did you do, and how did it turn out?

Am I here for dinner or a math lesson? I walked into a restaurant expecting to peruse the menu, but instead, I was immediately struck by a prominent tip chart detailing exact gratuity amounts. Prior to ordering, I found myself calculating percentages, shifting decimals, and determining totals. While I comprehend the rationale behind restaurants providing tipping guidelines and am more than willing to bestow generous gratuities upon exceptional service, displaying the anticipated amount before the meal can make the process feel more obligatory than voluntary. Although restaurant staff deserve fair remuneration, many patrons, like myself, prefer to determine the tip amount based on the actual experience. I pose the question: would a sign such as this be beneficial and enlightening, or would it induce pressure prior to being seated?

I thought I was getting pulled over for something serious... but that wasn't it at all.

As soon as I saw the lights, my mind started racing like everyone else's would. I pulled over wondering what I had done.

The officer walked up, took one look at my truck, and went straight to the front tire. A few seconds later, he pulled out a measuring tape.

Before I knew it, another officer showed up, and both of them were measuring my wheel setup to check how far the tires extended and whether everything was within the legal limits.

I'll admit, it was one of the most unexpected traffic stops I've ever had. Cars were slowing down, people were staring, and there I was watching my tires get measured on the side of the road.

No speeding. No reckless driving. Just a conversation about my truck's wheel setup.

Definitely wasn't how I expected my day to go. Has anyone else ever been stopped because of their tires or modifications? I'd be curious to hear your experience.

Park Ranger Monica made an incredible discovery on the trails today—a Hickory Horned Devil caterpillar!

Don't let the name fool you. This impressive caterpillar is completely harmless and is the larval stage of the beautiful Regal Moth, one of the largest moths in North America. With its bright colors, spiky horns, and enormous size, it's definitely a sight to see. This one was HUGE!

Moments like these are a great reminder that our parks are full of incredible wildlife just waiting to be discovered. Keep your eyes open on your next adventure—you never know what fascinating creature you might spot!

Pulled up to this convenience store today and found the doors locked with these handwritten signs taped to the window.

They say the staff is understaffed, overworked, and staying closed until they get the pay they believe they deserve.

I honestly wasn't expecting it. There wasn't anyone outside explaining what was going on, so a few people walked up, tried the door, read the signs, and left looking confused.

Whatever the situation is behind the scenes, it's definitely surprising to show up expecting a quick stop and find the business closed like this.

Have you ever arrived somewhere and found it unexpectedly shut down because of something like this? What would your first reaction be?

My son and his fiancée sat me down and asked for the engagement ring off my finger. When I said no, my son called me selfish and materialistic.

My son Brandon (27) and his longtime girlfriend, now fiancée, Lauren (27), finally decided to get married. They announced the engagement privately to my husband and me, and after the hugs and the ch*****ne, they said there was something important they wanted to talk to me about.

Brandon wanted my engagement ring, to give to Lauren. His reasoning: it would keep him from starting his marriage in debt from buying a new expensive diamond ring. Lauren added that she loves the look of my ring and would be honored for me to pass it down to her.

Here's the thing. I love this ring. My husband chose it and bought it for me many years ago. It's an oval stone on a gold band, and I've worn it stacked with my wedding band every single day since he proposed. That's it in the picture. It is not a family heirloom. It's MINE. And I plan to keep wearing it until I'm old and grey.

So I told them I was touched that they wanted it, but no. I want to keep wearing my ring for the rest of my still-long life. When I'm old, I said, I'd be more than happy to pass it down to their future children.

They were not happy. Brandon actually called me selfish and materialistic. He said diamonds are a scam, and asked how I could let him go into debt to buy a ring.

Diamonds are a scam, but he wants mine. Let that one sit.

Lauren said she had hoped my ring could become a family heirloom, a token of me accepting her into the family. For the record, I have always liked Lauren. We get along great. Which apparently means nothing until I surrender my jewelry.

And then they both generously assured me I could keep my wedding band. So it's not like they'd be leaving me ringless. How thoughtful.

Am I wrong for keeping my own engagement ring, the one I'm still wearing?

Apparently walking back to my seat is too much to ask…

The flight attendants decide that’s the perfect time to start handing out drinks.

Fine.

But don’t make me stand there for 20 minutes because YOU can’t take five seconds to move the cart enough for me to get by to get to my seat.

Instead, I had to stand there like I was grounded while they slowly worked their way through half the plane.

Seriously?

You’re telling me you couldn’t move a couple feet back so ONE passenger could get back to their seat?

I paid for this flight.

I shouldn’t have to stand in the aisle waiting on a drink cart like I’m in a traffic jam at 35,000 feet.

A little common sense would’ve gone a long way.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Here's my amazing story that happened to me today. Last night i was dreaming that had found someone's money and wondering how could I find the person that owns it and then i woke up. Then I had my cup of coffee thinking what was i was going to do today. so I decided to go mow so I had to go get some gas and I more less pulled out on the road I spotted something in the middle of the road thinking that looked like a billfold so I turned around and it was laying wide open as you see in the picture. I got the address and drove to this persons house to hand delivered. He wasn't there but his step father was there he was very great full I found it. He sad he was worried sick of losing it and he
Told me that was all the money he had and said is mom was sick and he was with her. So to me the appreciation and the right timing was worth more to me that what money was in there. So to say honesty is the best adrenaline rush you can have when you do the right things in life . ❤️
