Our friends in Colombia suffered devastating losses this week.

The house where we hold our annual Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Camps was hit hard, and our friends and affiliate in Cali, Estudio del Arte, have many students who are helping rebuild their communities.

Together with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Camps, bridgethefight, Erik, and Henry “Tío” Arias, we will be holding an open mat fundraiser that is open to all academies and friends.

The open mat will have a suggested donation of $40.

We will also be selling prints and offering custom headshots, with a minimum donation of $75 and $50, respectively.

This past Saturday, we celebrated 10 years of building, skill development, goals achieved, and lifelong friendships created. Class by class, day by day, we kept at it, and sometimes it’s nice to stop, listen to some live mariachi music, and celebrate.

A huge thank you to Garnish Studios for providing the space, Russo’s Mozzarella and Pasta for providing the tastiest Italian food, NYC Wine & Spirit Shop for helping with the drinks, Anayely Lmt for generously giving our students massages, and Rolando Veras Jr. for pulling out the grill and putting together a last-minute Dominican BBQ.

We also featured Pizza Pod, which was a huge hit, and celebrated several birthdays. Happy birthday to Lerrod Smalls, Phil Chong, and from.aash. Aash has been celebrating nonstop since Friday night. Someone please check up on him.
