Some nice flys I got from a skilled tier Korey Pepper with a similar style as me. Me and my Clients who like to swing with Skagit set ups will definitely put some of these to use this fall, into spring.

A couple good smallmouth caught on the Douglas Spinning & Casting Rods DXS 724XF. Me and my clients have been using these for smallmouth over the last month and they are great rods that excel at Ned rigs, football Jigs, small/medium sized swimbaits, but even though they have a fast tip they have a soft enough secondary action wear I've even thrown small crankbaits in a pinch and landed fish just fine. We even landed a surprise steelhead throwing a 4" swimbait using one of these rods.

A father and son steelhead from a recent trip, one caught swinging a large streamer on the spey rod and the other... on a 4" swimbait! Plus a very clean May dropback caught on the swing.

I had a good time with Marc teaching him more about fly fishing and getting him into his first fish on the spey rod/swinging streamers. First 2 pics are the same fish(fat one he got on the swing) I couldn't decide which Pic was better.

I had a great time with Brian Tuesday Teaching him how to use his new centerpin. He landed a handful of beautiful fish and experienced the awesome nature that the DSR is known for. We experienced the sights and sounds of a flock of turkeys, majestic Deer feeding in a meadow, some of the most amazing trees, and although a little skittish at first what turned out to be a extra friendly wood turtle that greeted us on our walk up the trail and then again on the way back down.

I had a great time guiding "the boys"(Carter, Zack, and Jake) at the DSR a week ago. We got into a mixed bag of Bass and steelhead. All 3 were able to land their first fish swinging streamers with a spey rod and it was Jake's first time using a fly rod. Thanks for hiring me guys, we have a lot of fun, and your a pleasure to guide!

Some of the fish landed/ones I took pics of from a few hours Friday and then Saturday. Good variety of stages of fish right now from fresh, dark pre spawn, and lots of healed up drop backs already around. We lost a bunch because we'll some days you do and with water temps fluctuating from the low to upper 40s at most places/ a good amount of water they are fighting great! I have some openings late April through early May(also smallmouth bass May through roughly June) if anyone wants to chase these great fish call 315-236-8610.
