The Silver Bullet Loop in Parenting 08/21/2026

I’ve been thinking a lot about how easy it is to get stuck in what I call the Silver Bullet Loop—trying one parenting strategy after another, hoping this will finally be the thing that changes everything.

The problem isn’t that the advice is bad. It’s that we can spend so much time consuming tips, scripts, and strategies that we never get enough quiet to really understand what’s happening with our child—or with us.

I wrote about why that keeps us stuck, and what can help us move toward more lasting change, deeper connection, and clearer parenting.

You Can't Teach What You Haven't Learned: Emotional Regulation for Moms (with Arielle Kempler) 08/13/2026

This week on The Nurture Network, I was so lucky to sit down with psychotherapist Arielle Kempler, , for a conversation about emotional regulation—for our kids AND for ourselves.

As Arielle says in this clip: you couldn't teach someone to play basketball if you never learned how to play yourself.

So how are we supposed to teach our children emotional regulation if no one ever taught us?

Emotional regulation is a skill. And so many of us are trying to give our children tools we never received ourselves.

The good news? We can learn—and we can build these skills right alongside our kids.

You Can't Teach What You Haven't Learned: Emotional Regulation for Moms (with Arielle Kempler) New Guest Episode!

So you feel like you failed today.

Maybe you yelled. Maybe your child had a huge meltdown. Maybe you handled something differently than you wish you had.

But before you decide what today says about you as a mother, I want you to ask yourself something:

By what standards are you measuring?

Your child struggling doesn't mean you're failing. Their big feelings don't mean you're doing something wrong. And one hard moment doesn't erase all the places you showed up today.

In this week's Goodnight, Mom, we're putting down the scorecard—and looking for the evidence that you're growing, too.

I’m so excited to be part of Made in the Margins: Back to School Reset 🎧

This FREE audio summit features 15 mom entrepreneurs sharing practical tips in 7 minutes or less — because moms are often building businesses, careers, and big ideas in the margins of real life.

My mini-session is:

✨ Question Every Inherited Expectation ✨

I’ll be talking about how many of the things that make motherhood + work feel so heavy come from expectations we’ve absorbed about what a “good mom” or “successful” person should be — and how to start deciding which ones actually belong to YOU.

The summit runs August 17–21 and it’s completely free. Make sure you're signed up!

Many mothers don't have enough support.

That needs to change.

But I also think something else happens along the way.

We become so accustomed to carrying everything ourselves that even when support is available, we struggle to receive it. We minimize our needs. We say, "I'm fine." We feel guilty accepting help. We keep doing it ourselves because it's easier than asking.

This carousel is an invitation to notice where support might already exist—and to practice receiving it without having to earn it first.

If this resonates, I wrote more about it in this week's free Substack. 💛 Comment BOOST and I'll send you the link.

Mothers Know How to Give. We've Forgotten How to Receive. 07/29/2026

I've been thinking a lot about what it means to receive.

As mothers, we're incredibly good at giving—to our children, our partners, our work, our homes. But somewhere along the way, many of us stop practicing receiving.

I wrote about that this week and how it might be one of the most important skills we can reclaim—not just for ourselves, but for our families.

I'd love to hear if this resonates with you.

Read it here:

Mothers Know How to Give. We've Forgotten How to Receive. As mothers, when do we ever take the time to notice the support we already have and be willing to receive support waiting for us?

07/21/2026

One of the greatest gifts you can give your child is other trusted adults.

Somewhere along the way, many of us started believing we were supposed to be everything for our children—the teacher, the entertainer, the coach, the emotional support, the role model, the expert.

But no one person can be all of those things.

Your child benefits from seeing different strengths, personalities, interests, cultures, and ways of moving through the world. Every trusted adult expands their world in a different way.

As Lindsay Bell from says in this week's episode, maybe the goal isn't to do it all yourself. Maybe the goal is to intentionally build a village.

🎙️ If this resonates with you, comment "PODCAST" and I'll send you the full episode on building your village and creating the support your family deserves.
